This was too good not to share. Picked this up yesterday, I don't think I have been more excited about an RC car than this...

Brand new in box Kyosho Turbo Ultima. It was opened and the trans was put on the chassis, and then it was put away and never touched again until I opened the box. Originally purchased on June 29th 1988, it came with a radio, two batteries (all BNIB), carrying bag, and even AA batteries from 1988! The tires are even in mint shape, the wheels haven't even been taken out of the bag!

Click this link for all pics:

Still unsure if I want to 'finish' putting it together or leave it as is. Thoughts?

build it and play with it, that's what it's for. you already have one 'garage queen' RC.

You aren't the only one. A guy at the local hobby shop said those alone will sell for $150...

Any VWs made after 92 are usually only good for drive train donors.

I'm calling shenanigens. A barn find thread requires additional details on said barn!

In return to the answer I would like to put up a question to you VegasJetta that what would you do if the same thing is asked to you as I don't think that anyone would be here who would suggest to dump it. Even I also liked the car.

I am still wondering Vegasjetta, that what have you thought for the stuff which you have along with you and is it true that such models are still being made ? I think they would be now making the advance version of this car.

I'm sorry, all I can think of when I read what you typed is this:

I would have left it in the box and sold it to some rabid collector for five or six bills tomorrow, or a grand in another couple of years. Since you are building it, I would not run it because you won't be able to get parts for it easily or cheaply.

Did you get this off of CL. I think I recall responding to an ad, but it was gone very shortly after.

The plastic is probably so old and brittle it would fall apart if you tried to use it so I say leave it as is...

Incorrect. It's fine, as it was sealed up in plastic for many years!
