Boosters, I am putting a T 3/4 turbo on my 1.8 8V. I have 8/5 to 1 pistons and want to use the ABA HG.
Is the standard thing to stack two of these?
This car needs to run about 9-10#/( 150-170hp) , of boost for the Chumpcar races. , 14hrs.
    All help appreciated.

why would you stack with a low comp piston?
people do that to lower factory comp pistons to run boost

What compression can I run with 10# of boost? I am at around 9/1 as the head is now.
    Thanks, Boosters, yeah.

Only 10 psi? You can run stock compression, but you're at the edge. Personally I wouldn't drop the compression more than 9:1 for medium boost.

With 8.5:1 pistons; you're well set for high boost. Frankly im confused about you wanting to run low boost if you're doing pistons. Seems to defeat the purpose IMO.

The lower compression will have a lot less power when not in boost; so you'd normally want to run some serious psi to make it worthwhile.

Unnecessarily lowering the compression will not make it more reliable. Stronger internals will.

Stacking headgaskets will make it less reliable. Noone lowers their compression to more than 8.5:1. Ever.. 1000 HP drag 1.8t's that run 45 lbs of boost run 8.5:1.

If you want more reliability; add a set of rifle drilled aftermarket connecting rods, and arp hardware EVERYWHERE. Kevlar timing belt, etc.

    Up date,
Got it rolling with the T 3 Merkur turbo < t bird intercooler, 9/1 Felpro 1.8 HG .
    Hits 10# from 3800 to 6500,.
Feels like around 160hp?? Maybe. Hope the stock pistons last , The 2.2in small exhaust and low( 23*) timing seem to keep it cool and low boosted.
It roast both tires with the welded diff, 3rd gear and under. 4th, if it is damp. Nasty.
Should go a lot faster for the Chumpcar races.

I got the brakes and BOV to work, but now the O2 has gotten leaner.
Maybe the BOV leaks? I will plug the line today and make a pass.
