Bought the wife her dream car in November; 2003 Mello Yello ragtop with a stick. She loves the car, and wouldn't get rid of it for any money (fairly rare color/tranny combo in FL). Saying that, I should have researched it before buying. So far all the usual suspects have crept up:
-replaced 3 of 4 window regulators
-infamous seat heat malfunction on both seats
-interior soft trim comming unglued
-radio has a mind of its own; sometimes will beep when adjusting dial, others not, and won't show which level your volume is set at
Otherwise not a bad transportation piece for where we live. The only thing that sucks about driving it (other than the color) is black leather in the FL summer sun don't mix too well, even when driving.
Projects will be ongoing (color matching some hard trim and replacing all the gray vinyl with white, white top when time replace, neoprene seat covers, daisy wheels, HID conversion).

2003 Mello Yello Beetle GLS rag 2.0 stick; Monsoon; her "cute" car
Getting good gas mileage is not always a blessing; going further on a tank also means more people will see me driving it. At least I leave the Chihauhas at home.
