Looking for a good shop that could rebuild an engine for me.

Havnt seen many "tuner" type shops over here and was hoping maybe you guys knew of a good place that would be able to help me out.

Looking to get my 20th back on the road.

You can ask MTM - the "housetuner" of AUDI

But every VW shop should be able to fix/rebuild engines - but for much money

Currently im afghanistan. But i will be, and my car is, in Schweinfurt.

Im not exactly sure what is wrong right now, could be a number of things. So far the basic details are that the engine was getting really hot under normal load conditions and ended up melting the tips off two spark plugs.

Basically i need the head pulled and the engine examined to find out exactly what is wrong, then have it all put back together and have it running again.

I dont have the time or the tools to be able to accomplish this myself at my apartment, thus why im trying to find a shop that i can have the car taken to and fixed. Possibly even upgraded some in the turbo dept as right now it is just a 50trim and id like to go a little bigger.

your solution i think is super simple dude. if you're still having issues when you see this, hit me up. i'll drive up Aug 3rd and check it out over the weekend. i've got friends in schweinfurt that i visit often, so the drive is no big deal. i've been messing with these motors for the last 10yrs.

I wont be back in Schweinfurt until March. Currently in Afghanistan.

      That kind of complicates it.

If you are still in Germany come then I would gladly take you up on that offer though.

****. I leave Germany at the end of October. I assume your car's in storage, huh. Damn. Wish I could help you out man. I just got back from Afghanistan, myself. After this last tours absolutely insane op-tempo, I'm still trying to adjust to the doldrums of garrison life.

Have fun, don't spend money on stupid ****, knock out your SSDs and do a ton of Skillport classes. That's what we all did in our rare down time. A lot of guys made cutoff from their efforts, so it's worth it. Take care.

Wellllll, actually its sitting outside at my apartment under a car cover

My 2012 135i is in my garage at my apartment.

Yeah, this deployment is having a pretty high tempo just like my last one. Being 11B i dont think there is any other type of tempo though, lol.

As for the car. I started to take the head off, got all the head studs loose, and most everything else off. Didnt have the tools for the timing belt or a cam chain tensioner so i stopped there and ran out of time.

A couple things i do know, there is a stud broken off in the hotside of the turbo from one of the dp bolt on spots, and im pretty sure my wastegate is either warped or the bolts are ****ed. Thus, im contemplating a new turbo (this one gets retarded hot and id like to go bigger than a 50 trim) and wastegate. Its a top mount setup right now and would ideally like to keep it that way as i think it would cause less of a headache to switch out.

The other part is that it was getting reallllly hot really quickly and started having oil in the exhaust manifold and started melting spark plug tips, 2 before i stopped. Started getting critical codes as well. Hate seeing that damn flashing CEL.

You need to get that car inside as soon as possible, especially with a partially dismantled motor, or you're going to come home to more issues than you left with. With the studs loosened, and what-not, moisture now has access to parts of the motor you don't want it to get to and a car cover will not stop it. I seriously urge you to have your cars swapped. GTI into the garage, the other outside under cover. Hopefully, there isn't moisture and rust in the block and head already.

Starting to work on a 1.9l stroker / gt3076 setup so it might be a moot point.

Id rather my brand new car stay in the garage anyways though.
