It's honestly hard to scrape your oil pan unless you're balls low.

Well the one that came on my car was aluminum and I found out the hard way when I hit a rock that was sticking up in my grandmas drive way. It gouged a nice hole in it and gave a nice blood trail I wasn't even low

I realize steel is stronger but they didn't come with steel pans. I too have a hybrid pan now it also sits a little higher than the stock aluminum pan.

Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure my oil pan at least is steel. I mean, it's rusting..and I don't believe aluminum rusts

Pretty sure that's the giant hole I popped in my aluminum pan. There is a hybrid pan that has aluminum walls and a steel base. A lot of people switched to that but I have never seen one come from the factory with steel on a mk4

Grrr, the other night I nearly ripped my 4Motion valance in half after I got it stuck on a curb I didn't see... and I really need to cut out my fender liners (against my better aestethic judgement, misaligned bumper = OCD in full rage mode ) because I smack tire on it on road imperfections all the time... I think it's throwing my alignment off too! Plus my driver's side is 1/4" higher than my passenger side too! DAE notice that Ultimos take like a week to settle fully?

So much to do, so little time to do it!

4Motion front valance, Gli skirts and rear valance, Gli catback exhaust, OEM HIDs, St Coilovers, Pioneer Avic D3, Aristos with 10mm and 20mm spacers, rheostat, Audi TT pedals, stubby antenna, euro switch, 42DD LED city lights, OEM Jetta bra.

Not the best pic hopefully will have more this weekend. Bra should be on this week as well.

That seems like rust to me, and in the far left side I can actually pick at it and get some rust off. Anyone have an explanation?

Airlift Xl with firestone rears. still on my vmaxx shocks , e46 projectors in helix angel eyes,

1999 Jetta GL-No real mods yet, just trying to clean up and fix everything. I removed the hubcaps and debadged the trunk. Also cut down the shifter and threw on a chrome skull shift knob I found in my tool box
