Hello all! I'm a happy owner of a new '12 TDi Sportwagen. I happened to notice today that in the center of the dash vents there appears to be a missing piece. Could someone else look at theirs and verify I am indeed missing something?

I would post an image, but have no online account to place it.

Sorry I should have been more clear in my attempt to explain. Looking through the windshield at the vents that are just behind the hood area, in the center on mine is a hole about 1" square. Around the perimeter are small holes that appear to be there to hold a cap or something to that effect in place.

That's the turn signal fluid reservoir or could be the flux capacitor plug whichever it is don't touch it.
It's ok if you disagree with me, I can't force you to be right.

I thought it held tight the muffler bearing.

Not missing anything... I *think* that's where the light sensor would have been if the cars came equipped with automatic headlights. But given that the US versions do not, we all have that blank square.

I didn't like the look of it, so I installed some Johnson rods in there.

Yep...but I was wondering where it came from and (if I may be so bold) how much it cost?
