  1. 06-12-2012 11:45 AM #36
70s american cars. The torque was often double the HP.

    Honda F23

    150hp/151tq

This was Honda's "big block" four cylinder at the time making more torque than 7 Civics combined

My Subie loses. 170 for both means 0% difference. I wonder how many other cars have the same HP and torque numbers? We'll leave that for a different thread.

CTOP: Horizontally opposed engines are natural torque monsters, horsepower is then added by good injection, and efficient heads.

To be meaningful, need to know the rpms full torque is developed. Does the engine reach full torque at 1500 rpm or 4500.

I'm not certain that information will be meaningful for the Fisker. It maxes its torque at 0 rpm.

This thread taught me that if you value glorious torque over HP get a VW. If you don't value human life, get a Honda and a spare pair of panties.

Useless trivia for the day: Prius' electric motor makes more torque than the combined HP of the gas engine + electric motor.

You think the moon goes rises and sets on it's own? It takes torque to move that bitch it does.
