Thread: thule peloton bike rack question

  1. 06-11-2012 12:29 PM #1
I have two peloton bike racks installed, but whenever i open the trunk the spoiler rests on the back of the rack. Is this normal? and can i just get shorter gas shocks to prevent this?

    Shorten the rack tails?

Are you S-line or non-S-line? (different rear spoilers.)

I have the same trays on my car w/ the OEM rack. I moved the front bar up an inch or so from the correct install location. The trays now don't hit the Sline spoiler when you raise the hatch. I couldn't cut the tray either becuase my 29er uses the entire tray...

Install the bike rack backwards, i.e. so that the front tire is at the back of the car.

Nit-picking here, but the front tire doesn't mount on a peloton... front FORK, yes.

Either way, I get what you mean...

-Although I think the back of the bike might hang massively over the windshield.....

I think shorter shocks is the nest remedy

then you have to move the front mount more forward.

I use to have the thule mount on my 2 door, had to slide the front mount way up front. the fork mount bikes barely fit (that was the one w/o the rail). Ski bindings with all the flex extensions could barely fit between the mounts.

    ?

I have a fairing on my set up and no issues by moving it up an inch
