The good. This Passat has a clean carfax and I'm the second owner. Before I started to daily her I had the t-belt, t-stat, and water pump serivce performed. I replaced a few odds and ends including new front reflectors etc. Debadged the trunk, replaced the oem radio with a kenwood deck, and wired for a sub. Ordered new wheels and tires from tirerack, and new coils from 8380 labs. The og suspension was shot but I kept the radio and steelies with hubcaps.

The bad. I tried to show all the paint imperfections in the pics below. I recently clayed polished and waxed the car and she shines up well with no clearcoat issues. There are some chips and scratches but imho very good shape for the miles and year. The headliner needs to be replaced as per usual with these cars. No sunroof however makes for an easier job I hear. The drivers seat bottom cushion has a tear along the seam that looks like someone tried to fix previously. I use a temporary seat cover to I don't make it worse.

To summarize this is my first b4 and my first diesel car. Basically feels like a big mk3, cruises at 75-80 with no drama. There are no vibrations or shimmies and suprisingly free of any major noises or rattles. There is adequate power here to get into trouble for sure, but at this point I either start doing some power modding or keep my money in the bank.

The first pics shows the condition of the door handle, not perfect but works. There are a few scratches around this area.




This pic shows some paint damage to the right rear fender.


This pic shows the seam damage to the front seat. It appears the seam was repaired previously although not too well. I just put a temp seat cover on in the meantime to not aggravate the issue.

Everything in good working order? Anything not working? How's the AC?

Everything works as it should...in fact the AC blows incredibly cold and will need to be turned down after a while in the car so you don't freeze. During the recent heatwave we had here in the northeast the temp needle never strayed from normal even with the ac on full blast. There are no warning lights, or any type of strange intermittent issues. All the power accessories work including all windows and door locks. The shift boot and ebrake boot do have some wear, again nothing that isn't typical for the age of the car. I'm using the car as a daily, so the milage at this point is at about 115k. I also tried polishing the front headlights a bit which helped some...so they are definitely not super cloudy.
