Thread: HPA Motorsports: Introducing SHS Coilovers for the Passat CC

  1. 06-12-2012 07:31 PM #1
SHS Coilover Passat CC Introductory Special

HPA’s SHS coilovers offer an unmatched balance between handling and comfort. All SHS applications are based off KW’s twin tube low pressure damper design. Embracing KW’s patented valve technology, the high-speed dampening characteristics remain similar to OEM offering a near factory comfort level, while the low speed dampening power is increased to eliminate pitch and roll associated with heavy braking or corner entry. Each application features linear race springs on the front and progressive barrel spring on the rear.

SHS is the PERFECT suspension solution for the enthusiast looking to gain better control at corner entry on high-speed sprints, yet uses their car in the harsh real world environment.

    Introductory Price $1095.00 + Shipping (Save $100.00)

When ordering, please specify whether or not your CC is a 2WD or AWD application. Contact HPA or visit the HPA website for further information on the SHS setup for your car.

    What's the warranty?

I had ST coilovers for the CC before.....so will these lower the same as the ST's and KW V1's? (since they are similar)

Same lifetime warranty as the V1, and lowering ranges on the CC should be similar as well...

That kind of sucks then (height)

So is the valving different from the V1's?
If so, is it stiffer or softer?

And what about warranty issues....would it go thru you?
    Or thru KW?

SHS is setup out of the box to be a more comfortable ride for street driving.

So same height as the ST's/V1's, but softer dampening than the ST's/V1's....correct?
(You really didn't specify if they were or not....just that they're comfortable for the street)
Like I said, I had the ST's, but don't want to get the same setup. I want something a little softer
If these are, like you're hinting at, they sound exactly what I'm looking for!

The reason I asked about warranty is, just for arguments sake & no offense, if you guys aren't around anymore....than who warrantees them?
If it's KW...just say it, lol

And lastly, these are CC specific coilovers....correct?
Not for the MK5 or MK6 (aka universal)

Without getting too technical, yes, they are softer...

I think you're pretty safe there. KW warranties them, but we like to help out our customers by at least pointing them in the right direction if we can.

These are specific to the Passat CC. We also have different spring options for the 2.0 and 3.6.

Glad you are happy with KW. These SHS Passat kits will not be at Waterfest, as they are built and drop shipped from KW Germany. We'd be happy to give you whatever information you require though.

On warranty again-- If they need a rebuild, can you assist? What does pointing in the right direction consist of?

The rebuilds would be done at KW in California.
We sent you the paperwork, and get the return authorization.
    You send in the product.

    Fairly simple process...

I ordered and installed a set. I have about 2,500 miles on them. They are very comfortable, and I have them all the way down front and back. People that ride in the car cannot tell it is on coils based on the ride. My FTG is 25 1/8".

My HPA's?...yeah I ran them for a short time last summer/fall (took them off for winter).

They were comfy!!! Just a HAIR lower than the ST's too @ about 24 7/8" FTG all the way down....with over a 2" drop.
I think they were even comfier than stock or the Eibach springs, IMO.

So definitely nicer than the ST's.

Compared to the Koni's....the Koni's went lower, but the HPA's had a better ride.
So you gotta pick your battles.

So they don't have the max drop, but they give the perfect drop IMO (snug 1 finger gap).
When I had the Unibrace UB on....it actually scraped a couple times.....so, IMO, it was a little too low with the Unibrace.

I kept/still have them for my new car

    With OEM 18's, 235/40/18 Conti DWS tires, and 12mm & 5mm spacers:

are there launch shocks available with the SHS?

Ran SHS's on my MKIV R32 for a while, getting the launch shocks fixed all the issues I was having with the rear struts.
