This month I'm headed to Europe for a short vacation, and I'd like to grab a sturdy digital watch for the occasion. Post-trip I'd love to have something like a G-Shock around for camping/outdoor purposes.
I've looked at the DW9052-IV (I like the red lettering,) but I'm wondering/hoping to find a model with one specific thing: a world clock option. That may not be the correct term. What I want is a mode I can switch to that will show me the time in a different timezone. I'd like to be able to swap over to SLC, UT time when i'm across the pond. If possible, I'm hoping to stay in a <$100 budget. I'm not really leaning toward the digital+analog versions, but I'm semi-open to that idea.
I have a G-2500, and it has a Dual Time function. It is one of the modes when you scroll through stopwatch, databank, alarm, etc. It lets you set a time zone in 1/2 hour increments that you can check.
I would assume most if not all G-Shocks have this. Check for "Dual Time" or "World Time".
I ended up foregoing the world time feature and went with the DW9052-IV. It's no frills, but it's super cool classic G-Shock. There will be more down the road anyway. Most of the watches in the line are pretty reasonably priced, so I wont feel too bad for having more than one
Check this out. if you have a Kohl's nearby, apply for one of their cards. Once in a while we would get percentages off depending on what you scratch off. Kinda like a lotery ticket. Many times I've gotten 30% off. Guess what? Kohl's carry Casio and is often 25% off at the least. That's 55% off on a good day. Found PAW-1100T on clearance for $72 for some reason. Additional 30% off that!!! 3rd Casio I've purchased this way.
