I just signed up with creditkarma.com and they are showing that there are two open accounts in collections in my name.

Both are with "CAC FIN COLL" for $152 and $330. I have no clue what these are and I have never paid a bill late, much less not paid one.

I googled and they appear to be CAC Financial Corp in Oklahoma City...

Should I just call them and ask, "WTF?" I'm leery to give them any information but I'll have to give them something to check this out on their end. What info should I give them and what should I not?

I called them. It's from that goddamn hospital visit from last year. The hospital gave out the wrong information to a bunch of the doctors...

    I love CreditKarma.

I've had a ding on my credit for bogus damage charges from a shady apartment complex for the past seven years. It was only $50 or $60, but I didn't pay it for the principle of the matter.

Eventually it turned to zombie debt, bouncing from collection agency to collection agency, but it finally fell off my credit report earlier this week and my score jumped 30 points (went from mid 700s to high 700s). I was surprised it affected it that much. So definitely get yours taken care of!
