    Yeah, anyway-
If you're reading this... you're a colossal fvckwad. I'm the guy who was driving his 2012 GLI that you almost hit this morning on the beltway... you know the spot, right near the Wilson Bridge? Yeah... while you were living out your Vin Diesel pole smoking fantasies and driving like a fast and the furious reject, weaving though traffic doing, oh I don't know, 110 maybe? I was driving with my wife and 2 kids into the city. You see, I love my family... they are amazing people... especially my little boys... 2 years old and 8 months old each... and you almost killed them today, you fvck. Lucky for them I glanced in my rear view mirror and saw you, you cawkless douche, and was able to swerve out of the way before you clipped my rear end on the driver's side. I'm thinking at the speed you were going and the deflection of the hit, we may have had a truly spectacular death while flying into the Potomac river off of the bridge - but we missed that fate. Yay us.

You strike me as the type that would have a GoPro camera mounted on your dash so you can masturbate to your jackassery later while your pounding Monster Energy drinks, arranging your flat-brimmed baseball hat collection, and wondering why all the women you hit on don't like it when you call them "Bro." If you are, feel free to post up the video here! It will be a sort of outer body experience for me to get to see how I almost died today.

You are a worthless piece of sh!t

    OP
Got my car at Stohlman, next time I'm there I'll do some recon.

But on a serious note, guys like that are what give enthusiasts and modded cars a bad wrap.

Let's be honest - in the DC area, the vast majority of drivers can't BUT they present themselves as "enthusiasts" because they have the money to throw into their cars for the "effect". Unfortunately, the pre-requisite for owning a nice, modded car in this area is to drive like an idiot.

It always amazes me to see drivers who want to "race" in traffic and weave about as if their a&&hole is on fire. There are the same people who attend 1 track event, registering as an Advanced Student because "I drive faster than all of my friends - they all say I'm awesome". After being humbled, these are the same people who will never attend another track event because no one at the event showed them the proper respect or recognized their God-given talent for "racing".

Then there are those folks who are enthusiasts who have spent time on the track - those folks tend to stick to the slow lane and keep within a few MPH of the posted speed. Why? Because they have nothing to prove on the street and the safe bet on the street is that 95% of the other drivers are distracted and of that 95%, 120% of them couldn't drive their way out of a skid even with stability control.

To the OP - it's good to know that you have situational awareness and were able to react. So many drivers are coddled in their modern cars with an alphabet soup of driver aids - when something happens, those same drivers will honestly and repeatedly say "I don't know what happened - I was driving along and I got hit from behind - I never saw it coming". Those are the same people who truly need lane deviation and back up cameras supplemented with Emergency Braking Systems that apply the brakes long before the driver figures out why.

Every once in a while, the police make a timely appearance...

I was on the Beltway back when modded mini-trucks were popular (yes, it was a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away). A mini-truck driver, not the stereotypical mini-truck driver on bags and a bangin' stereo but instead, a Joe Dirt in training, rocketed past the nose of my car as he weaved frantically thru rush hour traffic at 80 mph. I watched his antics as he started to pull out of sight but was distracted by flashing blue lights in my rearview mirror - I moved over as Officer Friendly weaved his way thru rush hour traffic in "hot pursuit" of Joe Dirt, Jr. As I passed when there were safely parked on the shoulder, I couldn't help but give a friendly "Hey, y'all - you gotta see this s**t" wave...

This, and all the above . . . Easy there kids. You don't always fight fire with fire. I'm sure someone knows this person and the proper steps need to be taken. Not taking sides and the mentioned behavior on the road should NEVER be tolerated. Very small mistakes can turn to big ones even in the hands of the best drivers in the world.

By the way (those speed demons who think they are in a F1 race on the road) there is actually some placed where you can actually race and truly show your skills VERY close to the DMV area.
Prove it there, not where you can do harm to others and be an idiot.

Here ya go . . . http://www.mirdrag.com Yeah little sarcastic but this might actually help shut them up.

The driver can't be nominated b/c the driver is still capable of poisoning the gene pool. The sad reality of Darwin Awards of this type is that the recipients often remove a good contributing member at the same time.

    Is that like "sorta pregnant"?

I remember a t-bagger in Raleigh who had an Escort GT - Dreamboat's GT based on the 6" tall letters on the doors. The driver couldn't and a friend reported that he'd hit something hard with the 'Scort. The next day, I saw Dreamboat's GT with a "minty fresh bra" and the headlights all askew

Commuting in the DC Area is like training for driving in the Middle East except without head scarves - everyone is either blissfully ignorant or wildly overconfident. Having raced cars and provided instruction for various track events, I find that I drive around the speed limit in the slow lane. I have absolutely nothing to prove to these idiots on the roads who are "Fast and Furious", partly because these are the same idiots who would never attend a track event because they KNOW they could school the instructors. The other big advantage of poking along is that it provides an excellent opportunity to watch the stupidity unfold and move out of harm's way.

HaHa, well thing is I saw only a pic of the pass side and it was swiped. But person stated that there was more damage. And in order to claim a car "wrecked" it depends on repair vs. value I believe?

i believe the term your looking for is "totaled." any car involved in an accident has been wrecked. whether or not a car is considered total loss depends on the extent of the damage and the value of the car.

And given the cost of new cars, it is amazing how much damage a car must sustain to be considered a total loss.
