Thread: 2009 4dr Candy White GTI DSG w/46k for sale in New York (completely stock)

  1. 06-17-2012 11:54 PM #1
    Hey all,

First-time poster, long-time lurker. Breaking my lurky-ness to post this ad.

The GTI has been very good to us and I'll be more than a little sad to part with it, but the time has come for us to upgrade to something a little larger. The vehicle is in mechanically excellent condition -- there is some usual minor curb rash on the wheels and small scratches
on the front/rear bumpers, but otherwise the exterior and the interior show little wear and absolutely everything works. All scheduled maintenance (including 40K and the DSG service) have been performed at the dealer; in addition, the DSG transmission is warrantied by VW until 2018 (or 100k miles). As CarFax will readily attest, I am the first and only owner and the vehicle has never been in an accident.

    Notable Features:

    + Current mileage: 45,600
+ Mods: NONE. Completely, 100% stock. No stickers, even.
+ DSG automated twin-clutch manual (under full VW warranty until 2018 or 100,000 miles!)
+ All scheduled maintenance performed by Bayside VW, have receipts on hand.
    + Sunroof
    + Cold-weather package (heated seats/mirrors)
    + Bi-Xenon Headlights
    + "Interlagos Plaid" interior
    + Sirius/XM radio (paid up until 9/2012)
+ (4) 18" Hufeisen wheels with 225/40ZR-18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires with 90%+ tread remaining (orig. $150 per tire)
+ (1) extra full-size spare 18" Hufeisen wheel with new 225/40ZR-18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS tire (orig. $350)
+ GTI-specific Hidden Hitch Class I tow hitch (infrequently used to tow a 150lb Laser sailboat) (orig. $300)

Price: $16,900 OBO. Might consider a trade for a 2010+ Toyota Prius, but no others.

I am not in a particular hurry to sell, but would like to pass the GTI onto another enthusiast to enjoy, so pricing it below both the Edmund's Private Party TMV and KBB value. Please e-mail with any questions; additional pictures are, of course, available for those interested. There are no liens and I have the title on hand, so a smooth transaction is guaranteed.

    Thanks for looking!

Anyone? This is a good one...

  5. 06-26-2012 09:27 AM #5
Premium sound? Have anymore pics of the front?

  6. 06-26-2012 05:58 PM #6
No premium sound -- normal 10-speaker, six-CD/MP3 audio system with satellite radio, an auxiliary jack and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.

Have plenty of pics of the front, just didn't want to go to the trouble of photoshopping out the license plate. I'll PM you a link to a bunch of additional pics.

    Thanks,
    Eli

Is this car still for sale or no? I've called you several times.

  12. 08-24-2012 07:00 PM #12
A buyer just backed out (loved the car, couldn't get approved for a loan), so the GTI is once again up for sale.

pwrofdrm, apologies, I must have missed your call(s) -- it's been a pretty hectic couple of weeks. Please give me another buzz if you are still interested!

Bump for a good deal. Sold my 07 MkV 4 door GTI DSG with votex kit for $15,500 and it had 56k on it. This guys is 2 years newer with the TSI engine and only 46k. What a steal. Wish I could buy this off you, I miss mine. GLWS!

What part of NY are you located in? Depending on your location, I was wondering if the car was affected by Sandy at all.

I am in the market and your car is the right year and also equipped with the door count and transmission that I am looking for. Could you send PM me a link to some pictures of the scratches, etc. that you mentioned on the bumpers?

    Pretty good price.
Interested in a trade for an Evo VIII?
Your car down to the color, and trans choice is exactly what I'm looking for. (A suitable replacement fot this, but with a better daily drivability)

Sorry guys, was on vacation for a bit.

To answer the questions that have accumulated over the past couple of weeks:

    1) I am in the Westchester area -- vehicle was safely ensconced in the garage and survived Sandy completely unscathed.

    2) More pics here:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/7976197...7629944848895/

    3) The Evo VIII trade is tempting, the Corolla less so (especially since I've routinely got 32MPG in the GTI). At any rate, we are looking to downsize to one car (Subie Outback), so I am not really looking for trades at the moment.

Let me know if I missed anything...

I should clarify that we already have a Subaru Outback 3.0R, so not looking to trade for another one at the moment.

Also, I am somewhat more motivated to sell now since my wife's student loans are coming due, so feel free to make a (reasonable) offer...
