Thread: BBS finally!!

  1. 06-18-2012 12:53 AM #1
Haven't been here for awhile... just got new wheels - the ones I really wanted. I had ASA GT1 but the BBS CH-Rs kept calling my name, so I finally gave in and am very happy - should've gone with this in the first place. Here are the pics - sorry for not posting this in the wheel thread (specs: BBS CH-R 19x8.5 et48 w/ ECS spacers 3mm front and 6mm rear / tires: 225/35 Hankook V12 Evo... no rubbing issues whatsoever). Here are some pics:

Not a fan of black wheels myself - but good choice on the CHs.

I don't like black wheels that much either - at least total black. I wouldn't have gotten these if it weren't for the silver lip, otherwise I would've bought the all-silver version

I actually like this set up. Looks very tasteful and sporty.
If the CHR's had more concavity, they would be my top choice!

my A3 is black too, and thought about black wheels, but I think i want more contrast when the time comes to upgrade. I like the silver lips

I hear you. Porsches, BMWs, GT-Rs look really really good with 20" CH-Rs with deep concaves. Unfortunately the A3 can't pull off any significant concave-action with just about any rim - at least to my knowledge. I've seen wheels available for the A3 that are "concave" but actually curve out past the rim lip to achieve the concave look - no thanks.

These would not have looked good plain black... but that silver accent makes the wheel stand out so over all the car looks awesome.

    Well done so far!

Bit of advice though... cover up the tow hook opening... get some Lamin-x tint on the tails and get rid of those godawfull orange side markers. I painted mine black and than poured some heat resistant paint inside the markers to keep the light from showing through the stone chips...

Otherwise the car looks sick... I like

are those the BBS ones where you can replace the outer steel lip if they get curbed?

That toe hook cover is a PIA!!! I'm getting the S3 lower rear bumper soon, so I don't mind the missing tooth look for now.
