So, staring last autumn I decided as I was turning 20 that I wanted to get away from the typical 'teenagery' clothing and develop a more distinctive style.
Over the corse of fall and winter I got my cold weather wardrobe pretty well sorted but now it's sunny outside and I'm realizing all I have in my closet are like plaid shorts and tshirts from aeropostale haha.
Recommend me some good summer styles that will be comfortable to be outside in on 90+ degree day and aren't insane expensive.
About me, if it matters, I'm 5,11 about 150lbs. Not fat by any means but not in as good of shape as I'd like. I'm working on that.

Honestly, I just turned 22 and still get a lot of my stuff from American Eagle. I do not get the graphic t-shirts but I get all of my button ups from there. I get plenty of compliments and its not too pricey.

I have this idea that in Summers. You have to wear cotton cloths. So that air can be passed and you don't feel the sweat.
At the same time wear full sleeves, so that direct sunlight don't harm your skin.
That means Full sleeves airy cloths.

During the summer it gets to be in the 100's around here so unless I'm going somewhere with a specific dress code, or out to dinner or something, you'll see me in a pair of basketball shorts and a tank top.![]()

it depends on your budget and lifestyle really. are you a skater? prep? techno-guy? cowboy?
for starters, move away from aero/ae/a&f/hollister/etc... leave those for the teens. upgrade to some Banana Republic or JCrew stuff if you're looking for accessible wear. Hell, even Gap has decent selection if you pick the right things. I'd also suggest looking at RLPolo and Levis for classic American looks. Brooks Brothers is nice but most of it is a bit old-fashioned and a tad stuffy.
Basically, you should be looking for some cotton shorts in solid summer colors or in muted patterns. Go with a thin cloth (chambray, linen, or summer cotton) button up shirt or some solid v-neck tees (with or without pocket). Polo shirts are also good. You can also play up the sports athlete look with sports attire and a tshirt.
Get some classic white canvas sneakers or some boat shoes. The catch here is to not look like every other wannabe-prep or douche out there. Do NOT wear flip-flops out in public unless you are at the beach or running a quick errand. Ever.
