Jay Leno has finally gotten around to getting his hands on the Scion FR-S. The latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is all about the new low-buck sports car from Toyota. Jack Hollis, the vice president and General Manager of Scion, stops in to give the TV personality a full walk-around of the 200-horsepower coupe. While Leno's collection includes every shade of high-horsepower machinery, the comedian is also a fan of cheap driving fun for the masses. Hollis hits the high points of the model's development, including the tie-in with Subaru and not-so-subtle nods to the ghosts of Toyota performance past.
As usual, the cameras follow Leno as he takes the FR-S onto the streets around Los Angeles for a quick sprint. He also submits the boxer four to his typical "immaturity test" with mixed results. We approve all the same. You can check out the full video by scrolling below or head over to JayLenosGarage.com to check out a few photos of the FR-S hanging out in the Big Dog Garage.

Scion rep: The car only weighs 2758lbs we wanted to build a lightweight RWD car
Leno: So what does the car weigh?
This is why people hate Jay Leno.

I'm bummed he didn't take it on any twisty canyon-type roads that I assume are all around the outskirts of LA. He seemed to like it from what he did actually drive though, which is not a surprise.

To be fair, there's a lot going on and retakes are involved. The interview that was distilled down to 8 minutes probably took at least a couple of hours to film.
Also, as a guy with ADD, I can sympathize.
OK, when he's in the car after the interview is he supposed to know how the interview will be edited? Wouldn't the editor be more to blame for both instances?

Jay Leno just doesn't understand cars. How could he like such an anemic POS?
Mazda, Porsche, Volkswagen.

Can I say that I LOE Jay Lenos Garage show.
It's simple and gives me what I want. A walk-around, some history, then driving where you can hear the car very well, see it at different angles, and get feedback on the driving aspect.
Take not stupid *** motorweek crap. This is how you review a car.

I'm liking it more and more, nice looking little car. Does need a turbo, however.

Or how he asks if it's RWD? Or if it's a boxer engine?
Watching JLG videos could be summed up by reading the specs off the window sticker of whatever car he is reviewing.
Of course, last time I made a post along the lines of "Jay Leno doesn't really have a clue what he's talking about," I was berated by TCL as though Jay Leno was a mechanical engineering God.![]()
