I've been watching this poor 1987 Cabriolet rot in yard in rural northeast Missiouri for the past 12 years. I talked to the owner and they have no plans of restoring it or selling it. Something must have happened in that car that they won't part with it. MINT interior and only 45K on it. I love that color - Helios blue I believe. And someone would probably kill to have that complete perfect set of Zandvoorts. RIP Cabby.

The lot where this is sitting is a mom/pop operation and they won't discuss the car. They won't sell or part it out. Really unfortunate since there are a lot of usable parts there.

This reminds me of so many other "Classic Ferrari/Porsche/DeLorean abandoned and sinking into the mud in someone's backyard" stories I've read. A sentimental attachment to something that is not actually cared for. It usually turns out that the vehicle either once belonged to a long-lost lover or family member, or the owner thinks it's going to increase in value and age like a fine wine even though they are letting it turn to garbage. At least throw a tarp over it, folks!
