great gun for its intended purpose.

I gave it to my father when the neighborhood his laundry is in started getting a little rougher.

mine was a very early example, it had a few small issues but I fixed them and it was dead on reliable.

I'm considering getting my CCW again. I kinda want a steel gun with a hammer and safety this time.. if my PPKS was 9mm and not .380 I'd use that

Before I got the Kel Tec I almost bought a P64. It's not a 9x19, but from what I understand 9x18 is 15-25% more powerful than .380 depending on loading.

I hate the trigger but its reasonably accurate and easy to hide.

    Hope to upgrade soon.

Looking at both wheel guns and other compact polymers.

I have a CCW through work, but I don't carry. Howeva, if I did, Glock 19 or 27 all the way. Hi cap mags and as close as makes no difference 100% reliable.

Depends on my mood/ wardrobe. Glock 39, kel tec P3AT, or S&W model 40 if I'm feeling old school.

90% its a glock 19, appendix iwb holster
the other 10% of the time i will carry my 27 with flush mag for deeper concealment, appendix carry or tuckable hip holster
and occasionally my glock 21 or glock 20 if im wearing enough layers to conceal with a owb in the winter

but i stick to the glock platform for carry and all the other pistols stay in the safe or at the range.
i always carry a spare mag in a cheap glock brand mag pouch or in a pocket and always use a real gun belt (wilderness csm instructor, or milt sparks leather belt)

M&P Shield 0.40 most days. Been looking at snub nose 38's and little .380's lately.

1911 in the small size. Tried P3AT, G30, S&W 442, etc., but couldn't shoot them worth a crap. Not too comfortable with just an up close and personal gun, so just went back to what I shoot well.

On a related note, the P3AT was probably the most uncomfortable thing for me to shoot. No real effective way to practice with that thing since it killed your hand after a few mags... Hard to develop muscle memory if you can't regularly shoot it.

I carry speed strips from time to time. Had a local boot maker and leather... worker? Make a little leather pouch for different speed strips. Just tuck it in my back left pocket and it sits great.

Also some leather cases for loaded strips online, but i felt like going local.

Kahr K40 for normal around town and dressed normal.

Walther PPK .380 for casual dress/lighter clothing.

S&W 681 .357 mag for working out in the yard.

What are you guys with P3AT's carrying for ammo, JHP or FMJ? What brand?

I'm not 100% confident mine won't jam with Winchester Silvertip or Hornady Critical Defense. FMJ on the other hand, had one feed problem in 100 rds. Used gun BTW, not in break in period still afaik

I would never carry something I wasn't completely confident in. Whether it be the ammo or the firearm. Hell, I use to have a keltec p32 for ccw, but it had one FTF in 250 rounds... Then I sold it. It was a fun, accurate, little gun but I did not have real confidence in it.

I'm getting rid of it though. Just never took a liking to it, trigger, grip, recoil, ugh.

My short list consists of the LC9, PF-9, and maybe the P11. I tried an LC9 and liked it a lot. 30 ft. groups were almost the same as with my P6. Having common ammo will be nice, too.

This is where I'm at now. It's really a hold me over until my shield gets sent back from S&W, but there's too many negatives for me to hang on to it. I'd say in 150 rds there's been 6 feeding issues, and I can't seem to shoot it well. With the LCP I have no problem keeping 3" group at 25ft, with the P3AT I'm shooting way right, and progressively lower as I get tired. I might try to polish up the feed ramp, see if that helps.

I carry my S&W 342 Air Lite Ti everywhere I go, with .38+P JHP LEO rounds.

Sometimes I'll carry my G27 also, but it's usually the 342. I've grown VERY fond of it over the years. It hurts like a muhfuh whenever I fire it, but it's still one of my favorite guns

The trigger on mine is awful. I actually was off target at the range because it was SUCH A LONG PULL!

You have to learn trigger set. I can shoot 98% with 50 rounds at 50 yds with my little 342 all day long. It's just learning the gun and repetition.

For my current assignment, I have to qual at 50yds with all of my guns 4x per year, plus an extra time for each at my home department. YES, shooting a little pistol at 50 yds is asinine, but I don't make the qual courses. I used to suck at it until I got into trigger/cylinder setting and shooting steel at 50yds. Having immediate feedback is invaluable for long shooting.

Having that heavy, long pull is a blessing in disguise with the little wheel guns, because you have a very good grip on it when it finally goes bang. If it had an easy pull, it would cause a lot of problems for the average shooter.
    Cheers, Adrian
