My B6 Avant is getting long in the tooth, I've decided to start looking at my options. #1 on the list, naturally, is the Golf R.

If I want to test drive one, which VW dealer to you recommend?

    Thanks!

Just Call any VW Dealership and get connected to their Sales Dept. Ask if they have an R and if they do just say you'll pop on by to check the car out. Yu might wanna ask the salesmans name and go straight to them so that he knows youre a legit guy and not just some schmuck wanting to joy-ride a car.

They have 2 in the showroom at mossy VW in Escondido. Not sure that they will test drive a floor model..doesn't hurt to ask tho

If youre serious about buying, they'll take down your name and information to do a credit check MAYBE. But dealerships usually do that to weed out the joy-riders from the actual potential buyers. Dealerships are there to make money, they WILL take a floor model out without thinking twice, unless it has been already sold.
