Thread: Fan does not turn on, on my 24v vr6

    i own a 03 vw 24v vr6 and my fan is not turning on.. what do i do... when i drive she is at normal temperature but if im at idle she starts to over heat slowly.... plz help... thanks

    Check for a burnt fuse. There are 4 fuses that supply power to the cooling system electrical components--look in the Bentley wiring diagram for your BDF 24V engine. Mine failed the 40 amp metal strip fuse on the top of the battery and also the 30 amp standard fuse also located on top of the battery. Also, the radiator thermoswitch can fail open which will stop the fans from running on the low speed setting. There is simple test procedure in Bentley to help identify the failed cooling fan system components.

    I had the same problem on my same year car as yours. Dealership replaced 2 fans. Cost was several hundred dollars.

    I installed that nime pws controller in my car a couple weeks ago and I am convinced it doesnt do crap, or mine is faulty
    03 silverstone GTI 24v
    EVOMS CAI, AWE exhaust, C2 race tune, Ultimos, BBS CH 18", h&r spacers, joey mod, black emblems, blacked tails, reiger illuminated shift knob/boot, 2 eclipse 12's
