Thread: Just got a euroswitch for the wrong car. Still works... kind of

So I just recently got a euroswitch off of someone online for my MK4 Jetta. However, after looking up the part number it's actually for an Audi A4 (part # Bk7 8E0 941 531 A).

The funny thing is the harness still fits, but when it's plugged in, the lights are on even though the switch is off.

I don't know very much about wiring, but is there anyway I can make this work for my Jetta?

The DRLs are supposed to be on with the switch is in the off position. So which lights are on?

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more specific, even when my key is out of the ignition, the dash lights turn on as well as the DRLs.

I compared the two switches (euroswitch and my regular stock switch) and all the pins look to be labeled the exact same.. can't figure it out. I also tried taping the "TFL" pin as people have suggested, and the same thing happens. Am I just gonna have to suck it up and get a new switch?

Doesn't make sense that the DRLs would still be on after you taped the TFL pin - must be the high/low beams?

Anyway, sounds to me like there is a short inside the switch.

    Hi!

Just saw your post and I'm wondering if you are selling the Audi part?

    Thanks
