i read about this, sounds very strange. Can't see myself paying money for it though.

Well, this is an interesting game isn't it. This will go right into my collection of "Animal and Oddball Games"
This has been getting a lot of buzz, and will be coming to NA late this year or early 2013
It looks pretty cool to eat smaller animals, then **** another Pomeranian for XP.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

The entire idea of the game sounds ridiculous, but after watching a few gameplay videos...the game seems really interesting. Definitely has that Japanese game quirkiness to it. For $15, I think I'll check it out.

This guy is really cool
The story mode is awesome. You pick up little data pads with information about what happened to the world and why it is like it is. There were some serious organizations and physic experiments going on in the 2020's
You can unlock other animals by completing a specific challenge. For example the Beagle needs to take out another breeds boss to unlock it.
You need to constantly eat other animals to survive, and after you completely mark a territory, you can mate and create a group of offspring. Depending on your mate and some luck, your new generation upgrades and gets stat increases. Those are permanent.
Survival mode offers challenges that when completed offer in game stat upgrades for that playthrough. At first it's easy going, you will find basic animals to eat and stay away from. Get about 60 years in and the animals left are survivors. Being a simple dog or cat is tough going when you are running from cheetahs, lions, some dinosaurs, alligators, etc.
You play survival to unlock more story sections. When the story chapters are finished it unlocks more data pads to collect in the field.
Some animals need to eat others, deer and grazing types need to eat grass and plants. There are about 40 animals (!) to use, and they all play differently.
Each play has a new challenge set so every play isn't the same thing. There are about 5-6 different sets of challenges to try. Completing all of them in a single playthrough is a lot like dead rising. You are on a tight schedule and can't mess around much.
for 15 bucks there is a lot here.

The map is horrible. The hell is the point of it telling you "Golden Retriever boss at [insert random Japanese name] Woods" when the only part of the map you can look at is the general area you're at?
Aside from that, it's a fun game to mess around a bit. Worth the $15 if you ask me. I'm pretty much skipping through the story though.

Product of our generation. "I don't want to look around, call of duty tells me exactly where the checkpoint is"
I'm just kidding around, but I hear you. I screwed up a challenge because I couldn't find the boss in time.
It's a gameplay game. Explore! Look around, PLAY the game! It's the type of game that makes you replay it many many times to get it perfect.
I got the true ending last night. Easily the coolest game story of this gen in my opinion. I completely, utterly lost it at the final section and ending. The story makes perfect sense and everything is explained. It's a really unique sci-fi take on things.
This game comforts my soul. It's really, REALLY nice to know that games like this can still happen.

Yeah, but it doesn't label everything. I just want a map that you can freely look at in detail. You know, like how a majority of open world games do nowadays.
Don't get wrong here. I'm not asking for waypoints that tell me to go to building x, at location y to beat boss z. I'm fine if it doesn't. I just think the map being limited in the game is unnecessary.
Anyways, I've unlocked some animals so far. Got the cat, beagle and did manage to find that golden retriever. Unlocked it as well.

I find the simplicity of it pretty great actually. Right away you can tell which areas have food, where bosses are and what area has special events. If I had to nitpick I would love to see the enemy locations when at the map screen so I could avoid huge predators when it starts to get tough. It might not be as fun evading a dinosaur though then.![]()
