Have you tried getting a job on post?
#1
Hi,
My name is Josuar Crowley I am a Iraq war vet who served between 2007-2011 I was deployed during 2008-2009. I earned an Army Achievement medal for my actions during my deployment. I also earned a good conduct medal for the three and a half years of service that I did. Once I got out of the Army in May of last year I started a job but it dried up and I started unemployment benefits which I have now run out of. I went through a very messy engagement to a horrible woman in which has left me with almost nothing. It's so bad I sold my bed and have been sleeping on a inflatable mattress for the last 7 months. During the time together I stupidly racked up enough debt that I pay 2k a month in bills not including gas or food. I have made some bad decisions financially and would like to pay off some of it so I can bring my monthly bills down.
I never thought it would be so hard to find a job after I lost my first one. It has been a rough year and a half since I have been out and I live month by month not knowing if I will make my next rent or car payment. I am also a aspiring comedian and a student at ITT Tech for graphic design which I figured would help me get a job but I have run out of money and have nowhere else to turn. I have used my local vet resources to help pay my rent and since my parents live in NH and I live in WA and they have no money to give and I feel guilty that I have not been able to pay them back. I read a story today of another Iraq veteran who sold his medal and the amount of support for him and his family was overwhelming. This man was deserving of what he made once he sold the medal and I understand having a family to support is more important then my plea since luckily I only have to support myself so if anything I only have myself to let down instead of a family. I have run out of options and hope that I can make anything off these. I really just want to follow my dream as a standup comedian and go to school since I believe education is valuable I'm just afraid I will become another homeless veteran. Even knowing that I could maybe pay some bills down I sit here and cry writing this knowing that I have to give up something that I worked hard to obtain and is special to me. I also believe that if I am homeless that these will do me no good. So please even if you don't bid just thank any soldier you may see or vet because we sacrifice a lot of things but sometimes struggle after we get out and its nice to at least be acknowledged for what we have done. If you win the auction I will write you a letter thanking you for your generosity as well as a video thanking you and if you want I will write a joke and perform it on stage for you.
To find the listing type in jsuar88 or type in Iraq medal please help a struggling vet.
Now the listing has spelling and gramar errors but let it be known I was very emotional when I wrote it and I guess you can't change it once it has a bid so forgive me.

something stinks here for sure. As a combat vet and former infantryman, i faced alot of the same hardships when i returned home. I utilized my resources and advocates inside the VA and found they bend over backwards to help vets in need. GI bill, domiciliary issues, job placement, vocational rehab, the list goes on. its also a safe bet that the county he lives in has a vet service entity that is independent of the VA as well, i know spokane does, and they have helped my family out on many occasion. My advice? get up off your ass and make things happen soldier. stop feeling sorry for yourself and execute a plan of action. no one else is going to do it for you. remember your training and apply it to civilian life as well. hard men last. hard times dont.
sincerely,

Nothing fishy about this guys I bought the car when I was making 4k a month well the money has run out. This story is true and it took me having to swallow my pride to sell my medal I'm not asking for a handout I'm selling my Iraq medal and can prove anything I have written. If you look back through my posts I asked earlier in the year about getting rid of my car without screwing myself. It has been a hard year and am only doing this because I have run out of options. I got the idea from a news story about another veteran who did the same so I figured I could at least try. I understand how suspicious it looks but if anyone wants to meet me and see for your self I have no problem with that if not you can check my facebook and see its very real. The name I poste under jsuar88 is my own ebay because josuar88 was taken already it is my account and there is no fraud here.

Like I said I am not looking for a handout just trying to get the word out there so I don't have to sell it for cheap I figure the more people know maybe the more that will bid. Once again all true thanks to everyone who wished me the best.

I have used all the resources I can inside the VA for the last year and they have been great but can only help so much. I have posted this in the VW MK6 site, Ebay and Facebook if it has been posted anywhere else it was not my doing. This has been shared by some of my friends who are comedians and I'm sure by other people who have seen this or read about it from those sites. They have set up a donation in the MK6 forum and a comedy benefit show has been setup in lou of this. I would never ever use my status as a vet to cheat anyone or be a fraud like I said this has been very hard for me to do. I understand why you think it may be suspicious but I assure you its all true and easy to prove if you want to come over and see for youself shoot me a pm. I will not have my name dragged through the mud because someone thinks Im a liar or fraud. Thankyou and I appreciate all the help I have gotten past or present here. I also freelance design using the skills I have learned while going to school at ITT to make some money but unless I can get a solid job or something happens soon it doesn't look good. For the moment comedy has not paid me anything as I am still paying my dues. Hopefully I can change some peoples minds about me over this which is also why I was hesitant to post anything on my behalf but I figured since I WASN'T ASKING FOR A HANDOUT and instead selling something it would be perceived as real and not suspicious but I also understand why you guys may think that.

Also I am sorry I did not realize I could not post anything with a link that did not have a buy it now price I will remove the link but leave the original message.

Best of luck to you, and thank you for serving.![]()

Thankyou sir^ I appreciate that and the amount of support since I have done this has been more than I expected it has been overwhelming and I feel like such a baby since I have cried literally every time someone does something such as the benefit show or the donation fund. Once again I didn't ask these people to do this they went out of there way one as a friend and the other as a very generous stranger looking to help anyway I can. I will do something special for anyone who has helped and I am writing down their names to make sure they get the proper recognition they deserve.

Well said! I started reading the post and it sounded like he was whining about not whining. I myself am a combat veteran as well (555CEB Tikrit, Iraq, 2003) and can understand times can be tough when returning from country. I also know there are endless organizations willing to help in some way those that have fought and served honorably for our country. OP I'm not one for handout and I will say this, I will allow you to earn the money I can give you. Aside from comedy (I'm not looking to hire a comedian) what attributes do you have?

I am a student in graphic design which I am pretty proficient in I was mechanic in the army and I can write some great blogs used to have a following in Iraq because of how deep they were. I am ok at computers and I am kind of a handy man.

Thanks for your service, sorry to here you are going through hard times.

Have you looked into selling your car? I hate to encourage someone to get out of a VW but it might net you some extra cash until times turn around for you. I did it when I was in between jobs. Sold and old MkIV jetta that I still owed $5000 on, paid it off, bought a Geo Metro and made off with and extra $600 a month. Saved me enough to buy my MkV Gti when it first came out.

Selling my car is what I want to do but since its a year old with 35k on it and im about 5k under it plus it needs a new windshield, tires and repaint on hood and drivers side(ex keyed it before assaulting me)(shes crazy) before I could even do so. Someone sent my story to komo 4 news and they will be running a story on it tonight at 430pm I will also post the link here for the naysayers.

Just want to say thankyou for those who believed me and were supportive.

I'm a Vet and work at the VA. There are programs to help you. If you aren't' using them, then you need to. The VA works as a safety net for Vets. They can offer you a place to live and get you a job. You just need to use what they have to offer. It's a pain to navigate the system at times, but it's really not the hard.
Sigs are stupid

thankyou I will be contacting them again tomorrow to see if there is anything more they can do but so far I have used most options they have offered as this has been going on for a full year.

retail and fast food are always hiring.. Sometimes you need to swallow your pride and take what you can get... I would for sure be getting a job even at min wage before I sell medals..

Are you fricken kidding me? You are the last person that the OP needs help from. Why don't you make good on all the bad deals, and BS that you have been involved in over the past 5 years or so in the PNW VW scene?
I'm sorry, but nobody needs help from a guy who doesn't pay for parts, blames service providers for his own incompetence in handling freshly powder coated items, steals money and insurance settlements from his "friends", and gets evicted from his home for spending rent on modifying his rust bucket of a car.
OP - this guy has just about the worst track record in the area. I've heard his name pop up in a lot of offline conversation, and I'm amazed such a person still comes onto forums like this. Do yourself a favor, and stay away.

You can call me Mr. 2 posts. Or, just call me any one of the number of people you've screwed over. Most people keep their issues with you to themselves, but eventually the area needs to be warned about you. It seems your willingness to screw people has only gotten worse in recent years.
but it's probably all rumors, anyways.![]()

Anyone can hide behind a keyboard. I suggest if you have a problem with anything I have, had or will do you approach me like a mature adult. I can speculate as to who you are but am not sure so I wont go into any specifics. I can tell you though, if there ever was a problem between me and any one of my "friends", as you call them, I have tried to make some type of effort to rectify the situation. It takes 2 however. On another note, since you feel it your role in life to be the Vortex NAACP and "warn others about me" I suggest you get your facts straight and make sure you know exactly what you're talking about before you attempt to slander my name or reputation. Its pretty obvious you haven't anything better to do than stir up garbage on here...

The NAACP doesn't really have a relation, since the advancement of a race isn't at issue here. As for who I am, assume away. I don't care for you to know, as I would feel responsible for any retaliation against the parties mentioned above. Rest assured, if I was to come across you in person, I would speak my mind. Not likely though, since you've alienated yourself through your actions, and as far as I hear you disappeared from the scene. Besides, I don't venture too much into your area, anyways. All you have now is slinging parts, and making friends with unsuspecting new members of the community.
Cheers![]()

I don't doubt for a minute that he did, and I'm sure there's a few more just like you, but there's nothing honest about this guy. He'll wine and dine anybody. Just wait till he feels trusted.
As for Mr. Lawn mower... Good for you, bud. Your overcompensation of online gay jokes is a great cover for your sexual insecurities.
