im trying to find the most inexpensive way to fix this.....what do u recommend? has it happened to anyone ever on this thread? 07 rabbit 5spd. 119xxx mi.

i was driving when this stupid old 89 camaro wanted a piece of the rabbit so i showed him wats up, then i spanked him! so i was pulling into the 7-11 and i hear CRAHWQQ(sumthin breaking sound)!!! i thought i hit something when i knew there was nothing i culd hit. so i reversed and pulled up to another parking spot and i see OIL in the floor!!! i thought it was the engine! i was pissed. so i chk the engine oil, looks fine, then i drove it back home real slow.(no more camaros for me[at this time ]) then i put the car on jacks and i find this!!! its the transmission with a hole on it????!!!!! WTF!!!! DAMMIT now what do i do? suggestions plz...thx guys/gals

Just say thanks to the moms and dads in this forum.

There's a hole in the case which means something inside is broken. Remove the transmission and see what happened.
If it sounds like sarcasm, it probably is.

At least your man enough to accept the consequences of your actions, I commend you! Now onto the topic at hand, time to get a new trans. That's gonna cost you. As if you didn't know that already. Good luck!!

Maaaaan. I love to shut guys down who deserve it as much as you. So I feel your pain. I think your best bet it to find a wrecked car that is being parted out here on the classifieds and get a guy to sell you a housing if not an entire transmission depending on how much damage the trans has after driving it with no fluid. Also post a WTB thread in the classifieds. Check this out and others:

    Good luck my friend.

Judging by what I'm seeing, I'm pretty sure he spanked you.

Just drive it it's fine. It's a speed hole. You'll be spanking Porches, Camaros and Atom's all over down. Plus its weight saving. You're good to go.

DISCLAIMER: you're not good to go
