Now that the weathers nice and schools done with, I've decided to finally tackle all the body work on my '01 Wolfsburg 1.8t. I initially bought the car with quite a number of dings, dents and scratches. The paint is pretty swirled and dull too, so I had always planned on respraying. Since I'm going to go through with the paint, I might as well do the body work too. My plan currently is to shave everything but the front and rear rubstrips. I'm a little hesitant about the door rubstrips because it looks good on some cars but terrible on others. For the front I'm going with a Rieger 4-motion valence molded into my US spec bumper. I think I'll leave the licence plate just so I don't have to deal with Wisconsin police. The sides will mostly be filling all the dings with an Evercoat filler, shaving the side markers, and the rubstrips (maybe.) The rear will be a GLI trunk lid with the emblem shaved, and a molded GLI rear valence, if I can find one. I'd really like to get my hands on a Bora rear bumper, but the odds of finding one of those is slimmer than the GLI one.

As for paint, well that's a ways away but right now I'm going to stick with the stock Galactic Blue Pearl. Later on if I have the money to respray a different color I was considering Suede Silver, Midnight Blue, Macadamia Metallic Brown, or another generation paint.

Here's how she sits currently:

Deep Gouge
Luckily the gouges didn't get pushed in enough to bend the panel so this corner will just be a matter of filling

I'm not exactly sure how they managed to do this, maybe a mailbox or pole, but I picked up a GLI lid in perfect condition so I wont need to bother bumping that out.

Right now I'm still waiting on most of my products to arrive at my house, but once they do I can start cranking away. I'd like to have everything said and done before I leave for college in August.
