I have never seen one in the wild. My only experience with these is in video games
Edit: only 1270 produced from 04-07. I had no idea these were that rare...

I just thought about this today as I was looking at the red Maisto 1:18 scale CGT I have on my desk at my home office. If I won the lottery I still to this day can't decide if I would want to buy a CGT, Ford GT or BMW Z8? Anyway, the point of this thread is while the CGT is one of my favorite cars of all time, I haven't seen one in the wild in perhaps 3-4 years?
Have all the owners permanently parked them in personal museums as I never see or hear anyone talk about these cars.

Only car the exhaust sound has brought me nightmares, the sound is like God screaming at you in a tunnel at WOT.
I have probably seen three total since it came out, one being on display in Austin back in '05? at the anual new car show and two in Nor California.

There's a guy on here that has one and drives it around (even tracks it I think).

i saw two different ones frequently when i lived in new jersey. edit: ok maybe not frequently but more than I would have expected to.

I saw a silver one a few years ago on a remote highway in Western Montana, seemed an odd encounter at the time.
I had a second sighting of another silver one on I-15 through Salt Lake City. The car was driven almost sensibly by an older woman. As she accelerated away from me, she pulled modded Hondas and assorted beaters along like pilot fish trailing a shark-hilarious.

There's 2 local... There may be one more that travels between Calgary(ish) and here as well.
The one local and the traveller are both oil money. The other I'm not sure. They are a rare sight, especially with the exceptionally ****ty summers we've had lately.
Oh and the exhaust note is AMAZING.

I saw a silver one on the 405 going through Long Beach. Then I went to a private area!

I saw one in Finland many years ago. Not even in some car show or Porsche GTG, but on the motorway going the speedlimit. The sound was awesome. There's not more than that one in the whole country, AFAIK.

We may not see these because they are exceedingly rare, but also because the reports I have read say they can be EXTREMELY HARSH - so owners may not think of them as a good daily.
I saw a silver one on I-75 North, North of Atlanta, just South of Cumberland Mall area. A young black couple in the car, licence plate said CARAMEL. Pretty awesome to see... I admit, I smiled. Wish I had a picture...
The car that I wonder about, as far as personal museums is the Ford GT. I have yet to see one in the wild.

A member at the county club that I valet at over the summer has one, I got to "drive" one last summer and it was an experience... also it sounds like nothing I've heard before. The owner liked to show it off leaving the place all the time, take up to the redline in 1st all the way up to 3rd... sick car.![]()

I sold a CGT to a collector.
He special ordered it, and I sh!t you not, picked it up in enclosed 18 wheeler AFTER PDI and has NEVER DRIVEN IT!
It's a NEW car with seat covers and the like on it from Porsche, with only delivery miles. He spent nearly half a mil for a car he will NEVER DRIVE.![]()

Spotted one last night exiting the hwy at extra legal speeds......thought they were evading the cops. For those that live in Atlanta it was Holcomb Bridge rd area,

I saw one in Toronto back in like '05 and one in Vegas last year. They look a lot smaller in person. The guy driving the one in Vegas looked like he was on drugs![]()

Never seen A CGT in person. Someone above mentioned not seeing a ford GT. I lived in an apartment complex several years ago and there was a guy in my neighborhood with a white Ford GT. It really wasn't the nicest place and I could not understand why this guy would live there with a car like that and unfortunately I never got a chance to ask him.

I saw a CGT at the Nürburgring once... The only other times were at a car show and at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
#26
I've seen a few of these lately, 3 in the last few months.
One on Long Island, one in DC (bright yellow and looked like a Gemballa or something, not a normal CGT), and then one in Miami.
I've probably seen 5-6 in my life in the wild, they're cool looking cars.

OP has an excellent point. I know there are a bunch of CGTs and Ford GTs in Houston, but I haven't seen either car in a long time.
#28
there's a yellow one here in Toronto in my buddy's parking garage.
it's being driven.
not too often though.

there's a yellow one here i see every other weekend, it belongs to the son of mcdonalds GCC franchise holder
A friend of mine also owns a black one but haven't seen him in a while

Like some here, i have seen more of these (three) than Ford GT's, one on 276 in New Jersey. I will agree that the Carrera GT has the most amazing sound I have ever heard out of a production vehicle.
