You should read the "Photographers Right". By being in public, you've basically forgone your ability to choose whether you are photographed or not despite your dismay. Your girlfriend included.
If you don't want to be photographed, don't go into public. Are you going to physically assault the police chief for being captured on surveillance cams? I guarantee you have been photographed dozens of times today if you've done so much as leave your house.
If you assault a photographer in public, I assure you, you will be the one leaving with your rights revoked.

Taking sneaky pictures of girls without their permission is creepy. And we as a community will let those mouth breathers know they're creepy. No need for violence or broken cameras just point and laugh.
As for people saying "public is public" I absolutely agree. But remember, that wont always save you from people seeing you as the enemy.I know a few people who take photos for the AP and they're not always greeted very friendly by people out in "public"

it's fine with permission. just sad without it, but i guess it doesn't really harm anyone if they don't know about it. posting the pics on the internet though in a forum like this, with a title like this, would make me upset a bit though. I'd ask them to be removed immediately.
