    Stuka's have been my favorite WWII plane since i was a kid.

    While it would be really awesome for a Ju-87 to be found, a Ju-88 is an equally awesome find.

    I am a huge fan of all things WWII aviation, especially German aircraft (I'm an engineer - and a geek - after all), so this is win/win for me.

    Plus, I live down the road from Udvar-Hazy, so I can get my Luftwaffe fix any day I want. To have more aircraft in museums *anywhere* is a good thing.

    In Berlin at the technik museum they have a rear tail, part of the wing and partial front of JU 87

    Not sure how anyone could confuse an Ju-87 from a Ju-88...

    I didn't realize Stukas were so rare. Nothing like the etched glass canopy to estimate the dive angle.

    it is odd that the articles says there's only 2 existing, one in Chicago and one in London. i'd swear the Smithsonian had one, just not on display. i have numerous books with pics stating they do. also a whole one somewhere in Germany.

    with production numbers around 6500, you'd think there'd be more that 2 around...

    I've been to a few aviation/war museums and this is the only one I recall seeing. It's in the Deutsch Tecknik Museum in Berlin. I'm not really surprised there are so few left, how many of those 2000 were shot down or how many survived the war only to be scrapped? There's really not a lot of surviving German equipment around, it seems there's only a hand full of examples of each plane or tank in museums or private collections.
