i didint want to make another useless thread. but im retarded today and having issues searching.

my 84 bunny is being an ass, i have spark(weak spark) when the ignition is off. when i turn the ignition on i have no spark at all. i figure a wire is crossed somewhere. but i am unable to find, im wondering if anyone has had this issue.

i have by passed the ignition switch and i get the same issue. hell the thing wont even turn over with the key i have to bypass with power direct to the starter.

need this issue solved soon. im will keep looking and trying things, as well as checking back here.
if i find the issue i will report here for anyone else having the same problem.

It turns out mine was haveing the same problem lately, i couldnt figure out what it was, so I just took it to my mechanic. he said i had ground signal at the neg. side of the coil with key off and no signal with the key turned on, wierd... he had me come down to the shop to check it out, and when i got there, it started working normally again... might be a stuck contact somewhere, a relay maybe? I'm having an intermittent ground problem in the wiring to my coil, a ground somewhere or something small... hope this helped.

start with all the grounds. especially the negative cable to the body and trans.

Make sure you have +12v on the + terminal of the coil when the key is in start or run and not in off.

when the key is on do you have some things that dont work? Wipers? Heater fan motor, signals? Headlights?

If so you might have a blown fusible link. they are in the main body harness under the coolant overflow bottle. They are short red wires that act like a fuse. 2 on a non AC car 3 on an AC car. If nothing in the car works that is controlled by the ignition switch you may have blown one

everything works and fusable links look good. im going to go over the grounds and check the ground above the steering rack(pain in the ass to get too).

when i was checking to see if everything inside worked. i noticed the blinker would click very fast, and while the wipers where going i could hear a grinding from the fuse panel.

felt around while the wipers where going and pulled the relay that had the most vibration. it was the -electronic flasher-bulb failure indication- relay it looks corroded on the post's and the board on the inside is turning yellow from green.

i wonder what issues that is causing, even when the wipers where off it was buzzing/grinding and then the wipers would cycle. im going to look over the fuse box again when i have more light and replace the relay and see what happens.

checked all grounds again replaced the neg cable with grounds to chassis and tranny. went over fuse box and all wires behind fuse panel all are good and no other corrosion besides the flasher relay. i did find a random plug, that has 4 wires off it but no place to hook it up.

random plug wire colors.., brown, white/black, green/black, black/white.

i need to find something so i can test the relays. they all look good. but one could be faulty.

checked over the fusable link again and didint see any issues with them, everything inside works. the only odd action id the left blinker flashes and tic really fast. i changed the bulb and relay again and it still acts the same.

    just work dammit, lol.

F**K IT, fuse box is coming out.

If that bulb check relay is corroded there is a high probability your fusebox is also corroded internally... Meaning ruined...
