Thread: 2009 Volkswagen CC headlights

  1. 06-25-2012 07:57 PM #1
Sorry I am new to this car thing, please excuse my terminology. I was wondering where I could purchase some projectors for this car? I saw that the 2008 Passat CC has projectors for them. If I bought those headlights, would it fit onto my car?

If you have any information on where I can purchase them please post up the site. Thank you.

eBay but they are going to set you back close to $800 dollars and i don't believe you can just drop them in and have them work, I could be wrong though. Expensive mod for what you get. Check hoen if you are looking for that color without the projector or HID install.

So I just couldn't buy them and drop them right in? What is involved with swapping these headlights? About how much is it going to run me?

The Halogen (stock) headlamps use a separate bulb for the High beam. the bulb is located in middle possition. the other two bulbs are for the low beam/drl and static cornering lights.

the Xenon HID Projecor headlamp assembly utilizes a "Bi-Xenon" concept where both the Low/Hi are produced through the projector. the DRL are a separate less intense bulb in hte area the "high" beam would have been in the halogen headlamp. also, some of them come equipped with a fourth bulb called the city light which illuminates with the headlamps at night for a more luxurious aesthetic.

because of the BI-Xenon configuration and the addition of a different type of drl bulb (not H-7) you would need a different wiring harness and VAGCOM changes. KUFATEC is supposed to have a harness for this type of swap, but ofcourse it will cost you time and money. the VAGCOM issue is also something that will take time, money and know how!

I would love to do this mod but it just doesnt make that much sense. I would rather a company make a headlamp that does not use the BI-xenon setup. just use DRL and Lobeams through the projectors and highs through its own lamp (projector or reflector). this would require no new harness and no VAGCOM changes. easier and probably cheaper without the BI-Xenon shutter to deal with.
fog light mod (almost complete). euro headlight switch, euro cup holder, 2013 CC door sills, 35% tint
