stripped CV bolts

o2o trans Pulling the passenger axle and two of the bolts (8mm triplesquare) are completely stripped. I mean stripped! I tried two diff types of screw extractors on the inside, nope. Bolt extractor on the outside, not enough clearance. Vice grips grab ahold of them, but i cant turn 'em becuase theres no room to. Any Ideas??? before i beat the heads off of 'em and hope i can get the threads out of the output flange. I imagine someone on here has had the same problem before. THX

Weld a nut/screw to it and then do it. I just did that today. its annoying to do

You think JB Weld will hold??? Thats the only welder i have right now.

no jb weld wont hold. when you take those bolts off, always make sure you clean the hole out. so the socket fits all the way in. But, since its already toast, take a brass drift and hit the heads of the bolt at the sides of the bolts. it will stretch them enough to allow them to be loosened. and of course replace them with new bolts. If the vice grips didnt work, get a new pair, and only use the outer part, there is just enough swing to loosen the bolt. you may have to reclamp 2 or 3 times.

If an extractor that goes on the outside of the bolt will not fit, this is the best way! Good luck..

If they were not totally stripped out, I would try hammering in an allen...

One thing I have done in the past is to cut a slot into the bolt with my die grinder/dremel. Then I took a nicer steel(craftsman I think) 3/8" extension, chopped it down and cut it so it was just a straight slot at the end(like a screwdriver, but doesn't come to a point) maybe 1.5mm thickness by 10 mm protruding out. You can then use a ratchet and get much better leverage than a screwdriver. Even works in many tight spaces.
