Thread: Rossion Prototype Race Car "Track Day Killer Sneak peek"

  1. 06-26-2012 07:19 PM #1
Thought i'd share some prototype pictures of the new soon to be track car toy. It's still in the building phase. A sub 2,000Ib rossion. That's all the info i have at this time. Here's some prototype pictures.

Sorry for the cell phone picture quality

At this time in the "prototype" phase it's just a wicked fast track toy. Something that can take full advantage of the vir full course

Very cool project. It'll be interesting to see how... everything.. copes with 900hp.

Looks awesome! Very interested to see additional pics... that power to weight ratio is just nuts.

For a track car my personal feeling would be for more burly door bars, particularly the driver's side. However I am no expert beyond a race car driver and regardless the car still looks the beans.

    What's the powertrain?

Is that a bespoke dash or did you pull it out of some other car?

It's the v6 powertrain beefed up beyond recognition. The dash is a modified factory q1 dash and the build is located in florida. Their is a two liter powertrain also available too. I don't know too much about that four cylinder set up. When i receive more info i'll post it.

That looks like its a modified version of the standard Q1 engine and dash. The "normal" engine is a twin turbo 3L Ford Duratec V6.

Little update: Two cars are currently being built for the company. When they are done with those two, i'm going to fly down and check out the one that is going to be built for us. I'll be sure and take many pictures.

Congrats on a fun project. I'm curious though, since it sounds like you wanted a dedicated, no compromise track car, did you ever consider the Palatov DP4? AWD, motorcycle engined, sequential shifter, light enough for one person to lift, low weight translates into low consumables cost.

That's cool, i've never heard of that before. The thing is when rossion told us they were building rossion racecar we were blown away because we already know what the q1 can do on the track.

    Nice parts!

What snail are you going to use? GT2860RS, or something more potent like a GT3071R?

I'm not sure what exact turbo they're using with the 2.0L, i'd have to get back to you on that one at a later time. I'm more interested in the 3.0L or 3.5L TT powerplant that is the option for us when they're done building these 2.0L builds.
