Thread: Pop Top peeling

  1. 06-27-2012 01:48 PM #1
I own a 2003 Weekender. I haven't waxed the top in years ...out of sight, out of mind. Yesterday, I parked in my wife's parking space at our town home, a space directly in front of the home that I am never allowed to use. (ha) I happened to look out my bedroom window which is located above the space where I parked the van, I gasped at the sight of scares, large and small, all over the fiberglass roof.

HOW CAN I STOP THE PEELING FROM SPREADING TO THE SIDE OF THE TOP WHERE IT WILL BE VISIBLE FROM GROUND LEVEL?

Any advise will be much appriciated!

    Kevin

Realistically, you can't. If you are keeping it, just have it painted if funds allow. They'll smooth it out and take care of the whole thing. There will be some prep work involved, but it shouldn't be too bad cost-wise. They would take off the black strip and paint down to the edge - no point in painting any of the underside. Two paint guys that know what they're doing could prolly prep the roof for paint in less than two or three hours if they're hustling. You could probably turn it in on a Monday and have it back by EOD Tuesday.

Of course, that's easy for me to say given that I don't have to pay for it.... I was just about to have this done to mine before I traded it.

Thank you. I know just the guys to paint it they'll take money under the table.
