East Coast VW R Track Event presented by TrackDaze, sponsored by Volkswagen of America!

Summit Point Motorsports Park (www.summitpoint-raceway.com) has been selected to host East Coast VW R owners as they get together to celebrate VW's R32 & Latest Golf R. Event highlights include a full “Track Day” on Summit Point's famed Shenandoah Circuit. This 2.2 mile 17 turn track includes a scale replica of the infamous Karrusell from the Nurburgring. Located in scenic West Virginia, Summit Point is conveniently located to most East Coast R owners only just over 1 hour from Washington DC & Northern VA.

A registration fee of $50.00 provides each entrant with a over 2 hours of Professional Driving instruction, Track Time, Lunch and a Custom Event t-shirt! With registration fees for High Performance Driving Events normally over $400.00, only through Volkswagen of America’s generosity and TrackDaze’s commitment to the VW enthusiast can an event like this be offered at such an amazing cost to participants.

Space for the driving portion of the event is exclusively limited to the first 150 Golf R and R32 owners. Owners interested in this portion of the event must register online to confirm participation. Registration opens 7 am EST, June 27th 2012. For more information, visit www.trackdaze.com/ecgolfr

I am really going to try to make this. The last R track event I went to was my first ever event, hook, line and sinker. I highly suggest everyone does this and $50 is an epic price.

9 hours is a stretch for me... But ill see if my other friend wants to do with the Golf R. Itll be rough with WF the weekend before though.

C, you will need a helmet and full covering of all skin. AKA long sleeved shirt and Pants.

Ive never had to wear neck protection though. So no Defender or neck brace is necessary.

already spent over 3k in track days and peripherals this year... damn it. whats another 50 bucks?

I may try to attend some of the Grand Am events in Indy that Friday and then make the treck over, but given the distance, I am still milling that part over.

You will need a helmet. The helmet must be Snell SA2005/M2005 or higher rated.

You're killing me.... I know it's Saturday, but the major project I'm working on launches Friday night and I'll need to be there overnight Friday through Saturday in downtown DC... I'll head out to Summit Pt if I can get out early to hang with everyone, but it doesn't look like any track time for me

I loved doing NJMP, but I'm really conflicted about hitting this up. $50 track day is fantastic, but it's a 6.5 hr drive (although I have done more for events) and I have tickets for Wilco at Brewery Ommegang that day. Decisions, decisions...

Trust me this track is WORTH it. NJMP while "nice" has nothing on Shenandoah for sheer excitement and difficulty.
