Only limited to golf R and R32? Isn't the Audi A3 3.2 just the R32 in different a different skin?

i cannot attend this time....the rest of the .:R32 community please, please, please register and attend to show VWOA there is plenty of interest for this type of event.
those owners with the time, means, and proximity, have a duty to carry the torch for those of us that cannot attend. 150 slots is a lot....i may register just as a supporter, without attending.
went to wookiees in the woods again this year...best time ever with phenomenal people. but, a proper track day with instruction plus the die-hardiest VW enthusiasts in VW's premium hot-hatch [sorry GTI] seems to good to pass up.
hell, i'm now trying to figure out how i can make this event, you know why? because .:RacecaR!
*edit* update: literally shed a tear or two that i reside over 1,000 miles away from this event.

Hey all,
I just picked up an 08 R32 CPO a few weeks ago. I previously had an 08 STI that I tracked twice last summer. It was modified (turbo-back plus tune) so I already assumed I may have warranty issues.
If I do this event should I worry about VWofA marking my vehicle as having been tracked and give me trouble if I end up having a warranty claim? I have no plans to modify the R anytime soon.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. I just registered. Let me know if anyone from the New England area is interested in cruising down the Friday before.

Need to talk to the wife about it.
Really new to this, and I realize that after reading the page it says a helmet is required. Can you rent one there? I know someone before asked this but I haven't seen a response or answer so far, and the website doesn't really answer it either.
Really hoping to go though. It's only roughly 3 hours from my house so that's not a bad drive.

For the people who are going to cruise down with JC, where are you guys staying?
#52
I checked with Trackdaze, and they do not have any loaners apparently.
I want to go, but until I find a helmet, I can't really signup. Hopefully this will change this weekend. Not sure if my friends helmets are SA2005 certified or not. We'll see....Wife ok'd everything though.

What would you guys recommend doing to the car for this type of track day? Oil change and new brake pads before?
#56
oil change, brake pads need to be in good shape.. if money isn't an issue a quality brake fluid is deff a plus. Stainless lines and tyrol stiffening kit is always nice too.

this is starting to be an expensive weekend. helmet ~150 (i have 3 but not SA rated all DOT rated) hotel and food ~200 track ~50 UM tune ~700? pads, brake fluid, oil change, tires after thrashing the (*&^ out of what currently on the car ~1600
~$2700 trackday seems normal for a vw. hah so looking forward to this.
#58
don't sleep on this opportunity if you can make it, tracking your car for the first time gives you a whole new appreciation for the car.
I have some spare used parts if anyone needs a set of pads or tyrol stiffening kit.
#59
man i want to go so bad! This was such late advertising of the event
#60
do you have to bring your R32 or Golf R to the event? How will they know if you have a such a car? And if you do use your car for the event, wouldn't VoA be flagging your car for TD1?
#61
does anybody read links or posts completely anymore?jeebus.
it's the first line of the link @ the site that is highlighted in yellow, with an exclamation point, see below:
ONLY OPEN to 2004, 2008, and 2012 Golf R32/R owners. You must bring your 'R' to the event.

valid concern? maybe. contact VWoA and get a response.
TD1, if ever even implemented, is for modded vehicles. an HPDE shouldn't fall in the scope. it's a driving event, not a race. sure, car has to go through tech, but that is generally performed by track staff for safety reasons.
it would also be VW's worst PR move ever...thank you for purchasing a $34,000+ performance vehicle from us and not one of our competitors. please bring it to an exclusive track event that we have sponsored and invited you to so we can void your warranty and deny any future TSB's and recall work. thanks for coming.![]()

VWOA has never given anyone an issue at any of these events.

Its not as if everybody at the event will take their cars together to the dealer for repair right after the event and all get denied warranty coverage. If one or two go at a later time and gets told by the dealer there are mods..who's to know whether it was from the event or from their scanning of the car.
Anyway, Subaru has been known to give owners of new cars free track days and then flag those cars that showed up.
So show up in a ski mask, with license plate & vin covered and don't let anybody near your car.

^^^ That was Mitsibushi, my buddy autocrossed his EVO VIII and got a note that canceled his warranty....
Subaru delivered its cars with a SCCA memership application in the glovebox....
Therefore I believe your statement to be incorrect, wrong Mfr......

Open to MkIV's? I'd love to come, also for the VWoA experience. Don't know if we could get the R beast together in time tho.

I thought it said 150 cars and if your not an R you would be wait listed. If not enough R's register to fill then perhaps it's open to others. I think TT's would be a perfect complement.

Hey Guys / Gals -
I've been to the track quite a few times now and have a fairly decent list of stuff (lemme know if anyone wants this) that I regularly bring including a tent, chairs, tools, spare parts, fluids, etc. that I am more than willing to share around. The guys that I usually go out with bring a jack and stands, but they aren't coming along for the ride to summit point. Looking for someone that is going to have a jack and stands, should I need to throw the R up during the day?
