I do Powder Coating on the side. I can do it cheaper and faster than the big boys. Below is a link to some samples of my work.

A one standard color valve cover (SOHC) will run you 50 bucks. That includes stripping, prep, powder, and shipping back to you. The translucent/ candy colors are a two coat process and will run you 60 bucks for the same service just with the two coats (reflective base -color top coat). I can do anything metal that will fit in my oven and that is worth shipping. Just pm me for more info.

    Quick Sample:

The BBS RK wheel in the picture is smoke chrome. Gun metal is over played in my town so i wanted something different. When the light hits the smoke chrome they really shine. Also if i go two weeks without washing the car the wheels still look good. Smoke chrome requires a clear coat so it is a little more expensive but i just did my brothers wheels in that color as well.

    I will PM prices

I am not looking to break rules or anything, Just out to provide a service. I like powder coating. I take pride in what i do. I believe i am a step above the shops that are just out to make a quick buck (i even remove casting marks off valve covers before coating). I like to turn a good product that i would be proud to put on one of my cars.

How does your powdercoat hold up to brake cleaner? I had a set of calipers powdercoated and was cleaning the brake dust off them with brakekleen (I know dumb idea huh??) and the rag was turning blue while wiping them off. Funny thing is I used brakekleen (the same brand, same can as a matter of fact) on the barrels of my powdercoated wheels (done by someone different) and the rag only had brake dust and road grime on it.

There are different types of powder coat. I typically buy tgic -I believe thats what its called. It is the best for items exposed to the elements as it doesn’t yellow or dull after years of use. It is "good" chemical resistant. so it stands up. I dont recomend washing any powder coated part with brake cleaner. Soap and water does the trick for calipers (thats how i clean mine). there are powders that are "excellent" chemical resistant as well, less color options though. - Hope that helps

Have had lots of interest from fellow Vortex users but no one followed through. Have a local guy i do lots of work for- Call or text 509-869-8172. his name is mike. He can vouch. I have done everything from Valve Covers to Intakes to Turbo housing for him.
