Bluetooth pairing on RCD510

I'm new to the Forum Just purchased a used Scirocco 1.4 TSI 160BHP DSG 2010. It came with the RCD510 unit with DAB but not the premium phone option. I'm trying to pair my mobile phone to the unitfor basic hands free but can't get my phone to find the car unit when I search for devices. I know the unit is only discoverable for a few mins after start up but even trying straight off doesn't make any difference. The BT Audio option is greyed out on the Media menu and the Activate Bluetooth Audio option is ticked in Media settings. Please Help!!

Have you definitely got the bluetooth option? If you look under the drivers seat there will be a box if you have it. I had an issue with mine where the bluetooth kept going missing on the car, I had to unclip the wiring from the box and put it back in again, after a few times I got fed up and the dealers replaced it under warranty.
