Neat. Stop motion is such a rewarding process once you're done and see it in motion. Definitely not the easiest thing.

Hopefully not a repost.

That was very well done. That approached the level of . . . dare I say . . . art.
I have always wanted to buy a junker just to rebuild the engine. But it's the classic issue of, if I buy a 1996 Civic DS with the 108 hp engine and 250,000 miles, will I really want to drive the thing after I've rebuilt the engine?
On the flip side, I don't want to spend the money on a 1980's Ferrari that needs a rebuild, because what if I get bored/arent' able to complete the rebuild
I really should have been a mechanic. This lawyer thing seems way less fun.

I wonder if he has an old camera where he has to manually go back and press a button to take each picture, or if he set it to take pictures at 5 second intervals
#15
I believe the format is pictures taken at each step rather than over time.

Ughhh, if he was taking pictures every 5 seconds for 11 months . . . .
No. What he did was put the camera on a tri-pod and leave it there for days at a time. At convenient stopping points he staged the shot, and then he took a picture. That's why you don't see many/any people in the shots, etc. Every so often he would change the location of the tripod (thus the Point of View changes).

Brilliant video. I especially enjoyed that time moves faster during the rebuild - you can sense his eagerness to get the project over and his foot firmly planted on the awesome pedal.

That was fantastic. Good selection of shots, good composition, and the music choice was well done.
I love a good stop-motion flick almost more than I like an animated segment or edited video.![]()

I really freakin enjoyed that, at first I thought the engine was maybe out of an early/mid 70's Japanese car. Either way I knew it was old with those little side drafts carbs and that little tiny fan. That must have been tedious as hell do multiple sessions of disassembly mixed with detailed photography. I wonder what program was used to tie it all together? I think the valves doing flips into the cylinder head was my favorite bit.
#24
Awesome. I kinda wish the video was a bit slower.
Big Bopper to March Hare..We're still in the game okay? Understand this, that scag, and his floozy....They're gonna die!

'In the\ Hall of the Mountain King' was used to great effect! The louder parts were also timed well with the engine going back together!
That's what I thought too, but more than a few times it looks like parts are 'floating' or leaping into position. I wonder how those shots were accomplished.
