I have used them before on my other cars but can't seem to find the model for scirroco

not sure how different MKIII is from the scirocco suspension.

usually its the springs that change from kit to kit and the hats
for 50 bucks i'm thinking of taking a shot

but wants to know if anyone made a set work. I'm working on a budget right not and will go full coils later but for now i need a a few inches

Please dont get caught up in this "Gotta scrape my b**ls" crap.

Lowered an inch and the car will handle well and look good. No stretched tires either. The cars are ment to be driven, and HARD. Lowered and cartoon tires mess up the geometry of the car.

Can you tell I'm pissy today?
If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

You want to look for MK I suspension products.

I'm on JOM and I think they're great for the price.

You don't need cheap...you need quality...otherwise don't bother. lots of problems ensue.

i've used them before I don't autox or race. installed numerous kits prior
but since i'm not familiar with mkI not sure how close the suspension is to MKII and MKIII

MKiv is completely different II and III are damn near the same

Indeed. I have a set of the Raceland coilovers on my car, but dislike the ride stiffness. The adjustability is easy, and the look is good (and no, I do NOT have it slammed). I bought them because I had a set on my MkII Golf and for the price, the ride was very nice. It was not as stiff as this kit and performed very well, so I figured the MkI kit would be similar.

Driving over depressions in the road (potholes, un-even sections of pavement) at speed can feel bad. Kind of springy but more just a stiff -bam-. I have a set of Neuspeed race springs but do not have the sport struts/shocks to pair them with yet. I have heard great things about that combo so that is eventually the route I will go.

However, my Racelands help the car corner well and it is not bouncy. Overall they're o.k. until you hit a sharp bump or hole in the road, as described above. I don't understand why there is such a difference in ride quality between the MkII Scirocco and the MkII Golf; I know the Golf *might* have been a little heavier but definitely not by much.

Lol. I'm with Julie on this one. I put in Neuspeed race springs and they're definitely lower than the website said. I'll eventually be swapping in some H&R Sports since they seem to be pretty well liked around these parts.

i have noticed this too loved them on my mkII and hated them on a mkI

i have since switched to H&R race paired with some billy sports and absolutely love them.

and to the op i bought a mk3 on cheapo $50 ebay coils and it was the worst thing that i have ever driven.

A set came on mine, not slammed but an inch or so lower.

Ride is rough but handling is great. I'm sure I'll eventually upgrade but if you don't mind sacrificing ride quality and don't have a grand or more lying around to spend they sure beat worn out stock struts.

    my 2 cents

x3 (min)... my old roommate had ebay sleeve-type coils on his mkII and on his mkIII they were rather uncomfortable. you can build your own rig to make it better but it would take a good bit of time and research, and with readily available kits and what not, its not really worth the extra effort.
...but then again, i do drive a festiva
