I'm curious... which cars/trucks have the largest and smallest doors.

If I had to guess.. the largest would be some Cadillac from the 70's.. smallest would be maybe an 80's Volvo...

Oh... and lets keep it to "regular" cars/trucks. Nothing weird like the BMW Isetta or an old Messerschmitt.

Yes... but clearly the doors on an old Lincoln are larger than a Civic.

      Thanks for the effort though...

A "70's" Cadillac or "old Lincoln" 2dr most likely has larger doors than the 4dr of the same model.

      You're welcome.

You don't specify very well what you're looking for, so I wouldn't be so quick to drop the rolleyes. Are you looking for longest/shortest, thickest/thinest, tallest/shortest?

The rear doors of four-door Jeep Cherokees and Land Rover Discoverys are a bitch for entry/exit due to their narrow footprint.

I'm honestly not sure if you just aren't smart enough to understand the question, or if you're just being a smartass

So which would have larger doors then.. The 2-door 70's Cadillac, or the 2-door Lincoln?

Which car has the smallest doors?

Do I need to draw a picture?

First gen Neon coupes had REALLY long doors.

We had a Neon coupe and a '71 Corvette at the same time and the difference was massive.

Yeah... I figured longest would be something like this.

Crazy that the doors on the Neon were the same length as a Corvette. It must have been all door!

So votes for shortest? (front to rear... not top to bottom)

      Longest/shortest please.

My guesses for shortest were either a Volvo or something like the Jeep.

I think the Isuzu Trooper also had fairly short front doors as well.

AMazingly the REAR doors on the new (2002 and newer) BMW 7 series L cars are huge. So a 750Li for instance.

      short doors. 77 cj5
ESPECIALLY so if you measure that the bottom of the door is only like 18 inches of so.

      Sliding doors of work vans....

This is a "regular" car, right?

      Smallest door?

Probably suicide door of RX8 or Clubman

My friends Mom when I was young had a '76 Monte Carlo and I can remember not being able to get out sometimes when we parked in normal spots, and I was small. Not to mention how much they weighed!

I always thought the SC300/400 had huge heavy doors not to mention the ridiculously stupid hing that only allowed the door to open at about a 25degree angle.

AMC Pacer had both a long AND a short door.

Another to add to the suicide door club is the door on the Saturn whatever the hell it was.

Pretty small, especially the back doors.

The doors on this generation of Escorts are so light that it's borderline awesome. They're tiny, and got nothin' in 'em. I love the fact that with a quick, light twist of my ankle I can swing the driver's door open all the way. Can't think of any other way to describe the small and lightness of these doors.

Also, these Mustangs are atrocious. STUPID HEAVY doors and pretty damned long.

ZDX has some tiny rear doors. Just look at where you step in. At an auto show everyone (including myself) was banging their head on the way in.

These cars (and doors) look smaller than they are until you put a person in the picture for perspective:

Lotus 7 would certainly be in contention for the smallest. Seeing as you can still by a Caterham, among others, it shouldn't qualify as weird.

Of course, it's not a true door. But a Lotus 11 has a true door. Again, tiny.
