Well, thanks to this forum for the purchase I made this afternoon!
After months of research and reading I bought my 2012 Tempest Blue, DSG, Pano, monster mat Sportwagen. I have been all over the map on what vehicle to get. I really didn't want another SUV/CUV (I'm keeping both my 2005 Yukon Denali XL and the 2001 Eurovan) and wasn't sure if I even needed another AWD vehicle for those few times that I can work from home anyway. At 6'5, I wanted something comfortable but also functional. The 4 F's are tough to find. Fun, Fit, Function, and Finances have to be in alignment. It was down to a 2012 Volvo XC70 T6 AWD (...$42k ...yikes!) and the Sportwagen for $27800.
The test drive today showed me the $15k difference is better saved..not even including the fuel savings...and 1.9% financing vs 2.9 from Volvo!
Since I do 25k miles a year in my daily driver Yukon (15mpg), I am really looking forward to skipping the $75 gas up every 72hrs...Plus when I use it for work and get 54 cents a mile this may be a money maker!!! Looks like I will be driving from NJ to that meeting at the end of the month in Savanah!
So many thanks to All who have contributed the good and the bad. I pick it up on Monday and can't wait!!
Cheers!![]()

Welcome! Funny you drove the XC70, that is the car my wife has! Horrible mileage here in LA, if I'm lucky she gets 15MPG in the perpetual stop and go traffic here. The Volvo is for sure more comfortable on long trips but the VW is way more fun to drive![]()

Congrats. We went from $70-80 fill-ups with our '06 Pathfinder to $35-40 fill-ups with our JSW. The 1.9% financing was a nice bonus, we got that on ours as well a couple weeks ago. They are not advertising it so I was not aware they had it until the salesperson quoted it to us.
