Now thats tempting. Labor is included in the price ? Closest dealer 07480 area ?
#4
No labor is included in their pricing
Each dealer charges the sale prices above PLUS whatever they want for labor (if they chose to)
For example, some APR dealers do the flashes for free (no labor charge) & some might charge $100-150 because they have to pull the ECU to flash it...all depends on where you go!
Gotta shop around
And as for locating a dealer...use APR's dealer locator:

I could not find the answer to this... on a 2.0T 2010 CC does the dealer locally flash or does he have to ship the ECU to APR?
#8
I belive for 2010 you dont need to remove ecu. Unless you dont have apr dealer close to your place. Then you have to send it out to get flashed.
#9
2010 and up the ECU must be removed to flash.
Current: 2010 Passat CC - Sportline DSG CW
Previous: 2008 Rabbit (Golf) - Comfortline 5spd

That sucks. My local dealer told me that *if* it has to be pulled, then they must FedEx to APR, so it would be in the shop for 2 days min. likely 3 at least.
#12
Check with DubSquared. I priced around the 3 dealers in Dallas when I was considering an APR Flash for my 2010 CC, and they were by far the least expensive at $75 for labor. For what it's worth, none of these dealers mentioned needing to send off the ECU to APR. Bench flash shouldn't take longer than 2 hours.

i just got my ecu chipped.
2010 and they pulled the ecu out and did it on the spot.

It may or may not be available already.
You have to go to your local APR dealer & check....per APR:
"When visiting an APR dealer, the dealer will plug into your OBD-II port and load our Direct Port Programming online flashing suite. The computer will scan your car to see if software is available. If it is, you can flash and go on your way. If it isn't, we'll do what's called a "Code Extract" to send your ECU information to APR for software creation."

Like Arin said that is a False statement! I just had mine done at Further Performance in Mpls Minnesota. Pulled my ECU, flashed, back in car, quick tutorial, test drive, win. All of this was done in about 1 hour. Any upgrades now can be done through my OBD port. I have a 2012 CC. Arin can correct me, but the reason for the 2010-UP needing to be pulled is to unlock the security. Once that is done you are golden. And you can lock your APR flash so it cant be accessed by anyone as well. Best bang for the buck you can do to a 2.0TSI IMO.![]()

You really don't get any significant gains tuning a n/a motor. You may get improved throttle response, maybe better gas mileage, and maybe a few other minor things; but definitely nowhere near the same gains you get in a forced induction motor.
Not really worth it, IMO, if one is available for the 3.6. I know there are tunes for the 4.2 V8, though.
**edit, just noticed the listing above. Tunes are available for other n/a applications as welll.

APR's line is that they don't announce sales. But if you look at their calendar of announcements for the past years, you'll see a pattern of seasonal sales, i.e. 4 times per year. You're probably looking at late September to mid October for the next one if I had to guess.

2013 CC stuff should only take a day or so if we don't already have it. We've already flashed 2013 CCs.

Yeah, I called Colby and he said that my ECU wasn't available
How long does it take them to "extract" it?
I know they need to pull the ECU for the flash, but do they pull the ECU as well for that extraction?
If it's readily available in a day or two though.....I'll be getting this sooner than I thought!![]()

Yeah, I pulled the box code from VagCom, gave it to him, and he said it wasn't available yet.
I know they pull it for flashing (this is my 3rd TSI car where it's required).....so they'd pull it twice then??
Once to extract & then again to flash?
My dealer is gonna have fun with the labor rates then
UNLESS....I just left it there for a couple days?
