ok so ive seen a few scarce references of people having modded their mk4 control arms in the pursuit of getting low. i'm wondering if someone can tell me what modifications need to be done.
this is all because i originally had poly rear lca bushings that quickly sheared to pieces. and after having replaced them with r32 bushings ive gotten a clicking sound that occurs only sometimes from a dead stop and every once in a while going into 2nd gear. other than that it only pops sometimes at <30mph when in neutral. after having gone through everything i touched doing the bushings and making sure all is tight ive come to notice that the housing part for the bushing is extermely close to the interior of the subframe...im going in to get an alignment done in 2hrs
and this is how low im currently sitting![]()

could you get a better (in focus and not tilted) picture of the interference? I'm assuming you mean the bushing sleeve part of the control arm is touching the subframe?

Beautiful control arms...I wonder if they would make a set with a hiem joint on the front pick up point and a hard rubber bushing for the rear pick up point...that might make it much more streetable.
I used heim joints in a few other applications ans they don't last long on public roads in the Northeast.

I would tighten that rear lower control arm bolt, that is most likely the source of your clicking when you accelerate or decelerate![]()
