Finally getting around to making some upgrades to the syncro. Put almost 15k on er since I picked it up last fall and I have a good list of things to fix now. When I got the car it was mostly built, but needed a lot of things re-done and improved. The engine management was the first thing that was addressed and the car is now running awesome on MS2.
Met up with my buddy Jake at JRM Fabrication and got a new exhaust built, the previous owner had a nice down pipe installed but the person who put on the turbo upgrade had a horrible rear exhaust. The turbo used to surge in the lower rpm cruise areas, for instance if I go to pass someone, it would surge terribly. The new exhaust cleaned that right up, turbo spools up quicker and it feels like it picked up a few ponies all across the board
Lost about 10lbs just in the muffler!
Next up was re-painting some boost tubes in the engine bay, will be pulling the intercooler to get it and the front piping coated so it won't chip off so easy. A few years in AK and a full winter in the mountains really took its toll...
Gave her a polish the other day, sitting next to my brothers new project

Anything new done to this?
"If I have five words left and Im about to ****in expire and all I have left to say is to curse ****in Tron, Im probably not going to say, "Tron funkin blow."

Just finished the re-tune with the new exhaust and also added boost control to the megasquirt. Eliminated all the surging areas and still running strong at 15psi. I found a dyno plot of the exact same turbo, manifold, exhaust, intake and injector size and that engine is making 290whp @ 15psi.
I am probably fairly close to that, based off how much fuel injector I am usingWill be getting it on a dyno this summer, just have a few things to button up before that can happen.
The biggest news though is the fuel economy. The cars listed stock weight is around 3100 lbs, assuming its making near 300hp I had the goal of attaining over 30mpg. After the re-tune and almost 1000mi of driving, I am very stoked to say the car averages 31mpg with mixed driving (mostly hwy)!!
Also the higher ride height with the bigger tires had made it much easier to get some snowboarding in this summer

It just takes some work...
