Went to OpSail 2012 in Boston yesterday for the 4th of July. Thought you might like to see pictures.

Didn’t think we were going to go in since it was raining heavily in the morning. The rain stopped, and the sun came out, so we decided to go in.

Pictures from the 13th floor of a building on Fan Pier overlooking Boston harbor.

The Coast Guard tall ship Eagle and the USS Constitution.

    USCGC Eagle.

Looking out towards the mouth of Boston harbor.

The contemporary art museum is in the foreground. The building with flags on top is the World Trade Center. Masts from tall ships are behind the center, and the USS Wasp is in the distance.

Constitution. Nave Seals boat in the foreground.

Tall ships from Brazil (closest), Ecuador, Columbia, and Indonesia.

    Cisne Branco of Brasil.

    Five Navy seals dropped in.

Five flyovers by the Blue Angels.

Looking through the rigging of the Indonesian tall ship KRI Dewaruci.

Constitution heading back to Charlestown. Picture from the deck of the Dewaruci. The ship was listing a tad to starboard.

In case there was any doubt the Gloria was from Columbia.

The Wasp was closed to the day. There were five other current Navy vessels in port.

    German beer available onboard.

Queen Mary 2 was also in port.

Saw our next door neighbors last night while I was outside grilling. They said that they met friends that came in on the Queen Mary 2 in Boston for the last tall ships. They said that they got a table overlooking the water at Legal Seafood at 11 AM and kept ordering bottles of wine to keep the table.
