Thread: For Sale: Supercharged E36 M3

  1. 07-05-2012 02:21 PM #1
Well, some of you have seen this car for sale on Maxbimmer before.
I recently bought it, and shortly after, i blew the head on the 328 motor - Car is originally a 328is.
I then decided to go with a M3 (S52) motor that i bought from one of the vendors here. Bimmersport did all the work and did a great job.

I've decided to sell the car as i have my eyes on a RPS13 that i've always wanted.
If it doesn't sell, i'll keep it. No trades & no test drives.

    S52 motor with ~140k
Active auto c30 inter cooled supercharger, with water alcohol injection, freshly rebuilt in 2009
    Active auto tuned
    M50 intake manifold
    3:38 rear diff
    Dinan exhaust
Carbonio CF intake custom fit to work with charger
M3 front and rear bumpers, mirrors, side skirts and mouldings, + m3 lip spoiler
    Great condition sport seats
    Asa ar1 wheels 18x8 fronts & 18x9 rears.
Fenders are rolled so the car comes with 25mm h&r spaces in the back and 15mm in the front
H&R race springs and bilstien sport shocks
Brembo crossed drilled rotors with pbr pads installed summer 2009
    AEM UEGO Wideband
Car was painted in 2010 by autopia, the paint is immaculate, all the window and sunroof waterproofing was changed.

    6000k hids

All work done on the S52 about a month ago:

    New motor mounts
New Rotrex supercharger oil and filter
    Engine Oil + Filter
    Coolant
    P/S Fluid
    Retune from AA
    Intake gaskets
    Tstat
    Water pump
    Valve cover gasket
    Valve cover grommet set
    Oil filter housing seal
    Exhaust manifold gaskets
    Exhaust hangers
    P/S Pump
    P/S Pressure hose
    P/S Suction hose
    P/S Pump pulley
    Mishimoto aluminium radiator
    NGK race spark plugs
New headgasket with ARP head studs

In 2009 prior to the motor swap:

    new camshaft sensor
    new o2 sensor
    replaced tie rod assembly
    alignment
    tranny oil changed last summer
    rear diff oil, fuel filter
    New vanos unit installed
    New clutch fan installed

    Supercharger rebuilt by superchargerrebuilds.com

The car is extremely quick, you wont be disappointed.

    The not so good:
The deck played once when i bought the car and hasn't played since. It comes on etc.. but no sound.
FIXED - The valve cover & power steering hose is leaking a bit. I'm waiting for the parts to come in. This will be addressed within a week or two.

The color is pretty much black 95% most of the time, but when there is light on it, it actually has a pearl blue look to it.
I think the colour is something schwartz - cant remember now
I need to take some interior pics and engine pics. Will try and do this by this weekend.

12K in mods in a GTi(+ cost of the car) will probably keep up to a Ferrari. This thing can probably hang with say a 430, Some low comp pistons, meth injection and a smaller pulley this thing will hang with almost anything on the road. Bump for a good price.

  8. 07-11-2012 01:39 PM #8
    Thanks man.

I agree - $12k in mods not $12k total price

I just thought i'd see if there was interest in my car. Everyone that see's it is amused by it so i thought i'd put it out there. If she doesn't sell, i'll definitely look into what you mentioned.

And i just noticed that you have a Hyundai Genesis 3.8. How are those cars? 420hp or something like that? It will be an interesting run

let me break it down to you

    - $5,000.00 gti with fairly good km's
    - $3,000.00 stage 3+ unitronic
    - another 4 to do whatever you like to her

with stage 3+ your looking at well over 400whp.. never mind if you bore the engine to a 2.2L with a K04.. 700hp daily

dont forget power to weight ratio..

    i had 600whp ek9 that ate r8's and lambo's its power - weight ratio

all in all very nice bimmer, i hope you sell it and move to vw's like i have

Their rated at 308HP with 87 Octane, 320ish with 94. Im running a bunch of boltons (intake, exhaust, tune, lightweight pulleys, cat deletes) similar setups are over 300WHP.

if you think what you said can be done for 12K or less go for it, for 12K youll be bulding a GTi that can just keep up with said cars until it brakes something. Power to Weight ratio yes, but when modding a 180HP car to 400+ its not just engine work fyi...

    a 2.2l with a ko4 is not a 700hp set up

So is this even a real M3 or just a motor swap? The title says one thing but your post says another.

Wow, touchy touchy. I guess this isn't a real M3 then, thanks for confirming. Hopefully the buyer knows this isn't the real deal.

PurpleNurple - Why is your ass itching? LOL - Dont just read for the sake of it, you have to comprehend what you read

The post clearly states that the car is originally a 328is. But the motor was swapped, so it now has a M3 motor.
