Got it open. Was fiddling with it, and managed to solve my issue by lowering the window on that door and pulling both door handles at the same time. The door is now operating properly.

'04 Touareg -- Nearside rear door will not open. [SOLVED]

I cannot open one of the rear passenger doors on my t'reg. Tried from the inside and the outside. Couple of questions:
A) Is this a known issue, and is there a simple fix?
B) Is it possible to remove the interior door panel without opening the door? (I am guessing "no")

I have seen that before, and it required cutting into the door to release the door latch... and the door latch itself was at fault. You were lucky to get that door open! I would get that latch replaced before it happens again and the saw has to come out, costing you triple. Rare issue, but it does happen.
