I can't even imagine those speeds. I've been over 100mph, but over 200mph is flat nuts.
That red cat doesn't have a capsule or pod or anything?

So, over the past year or so, I've become good friends with Richard Chaney, owner (and driver) of Southern Maryland Rebel Racing aka Turbine Marine Inc (as well as Chaney Enterprises and 2 very big marinas). SMRR owns two boats, the practice/toy:
and Miss Mary Mac:
I've been out on the red boat a couple of times. Tops around 160, but we didn't push it that far...best I saw was 137. It's powered by twin Bell turbines of about 1200hp each, the white boat has twins of 1900 each and goes well over 200mph. So, having gotten to know Richard, and his family...I'm now part of the "crew" for SMRR and get to go to the races with them this season. SO excited!

Nope, open cockpit. It's the practice/toy boat. Bolsters, belts, and coms systems is all we have for that...guess we could wear helmets but honestly, he hardly ever runs it past 125 or 130 just to reduce wear on the turbines. I really WANT to try to prove myself to him and maybe get a chance at throttleman. But that will take serious time.

Not sure where that one was taken. But we took FIRST again! Solomon's Island Offshore Grand Prix was good to the team. No, I didn't get to ride, just helped out and was a good cheer leader. haha! Video is up!

Gause is a person. LOL And we were trying to pass him to get across his main/stern wake into the headwake and calmer waters.
Great pic snagged with both props popping. Made it our cover photo.
And finally found a pic of the over-turned boat:
