Spotted on Maui

Hows it? Recently spotted 2 new vws on the scene here in Maui but haven't had the chance to spot them while standing still. If it's you, what do you got and trying to meet up?

1st - A1 Jetta coupe. Looks to be primered green. Racks. Diesel, seemed to scoot around faster than a 1.6 na so maybe td?

2nd - A2 Gti. Dark silver/grey. Turbo. Maybe saw an A4 badge on back so maybe 1.8t?

Anyone know about these cars? I'm about (2 months away) to take a trip back to md to drive my tdi caddy to Cali for shipment to Maui and I'd like to cruise. Met and spoke with a dude yesterday with a Canadian spec 93 Corrado and we'll be gtg when the caddy arrives.

Da EuRo scene on Maui aint nothing like Oahu...I would rather cruise Maui any day over Oahu (less traffic, nicer views). I wonder if da car ur talking bout happen to be Brian? He had a few MKIs, including some Caddys....

I know Chris u would be all ova their track if da Ferry was here!

Driving the paved part of Hana as well as a camping trip up to Haleakala would be pretty dope. I love how quiet Maui is compared to Oahu.

every island is quieter than oahu. and Hana is awesome, we went during rainy season, was still sweet.

this...this is by far one my my top 5 wanted to do and finally got it...this..is only the sound of wind in the atmosphere...

Currently, a rather busted g60 Corrado, red w/black hood, I've been trying to help her out as much as possible over the past year but anyway, it'll be up for sale soon or on the chopping block, would hate to part her out though. Been mostly riding my motorcycle lately too, can't beat 80mpg's. Soon I'll have my white tdi caddy out here. You?

Don't think it's Chris', if I'm not mistaken Chris has a 4 door.

That's definitely the Jetta I was thinking of, looks sick man, great work. Don't think I've seen that Caddy up close but maybe once or twice rolling. The other cars I'm not really familiar with either except for that Silver Jetta 4 which I caught cruising by in a parking lot. Hopefully some more will show up for another gtg. On top of what you had there, Elon's 93 Corrado, Brian's 83-84 Gti, Billy's Jetta Coupe or Caddy, hopefully Chris will come out for it, my Caddy or Corrado, and maybe one of us will bump into the guys with the turbo mk2 or Jetta coupe diesel soon. I'll be game for something in November for sure, just in time for the rain lol

Lol, well the Corrado isn't really much of gtg cruiser as much as its a Maui cruiser..I'm just trying to familiarize myself with as much of the dub populas that I can...

I'm pretty sure the green Jetta is a guy named Patrick. He left a note in my mailbox one day recently. We chatted on the phone a bit and txted about some parts needs. Unfortunately with all the traveling I'm doing for work I haven't been able to connect with him.

The MK2's owners parents live down the street from me. I spoke with the owner's father for a while about the car. I think he said it was bought on Oahu and shipped to Maui for the summer, but will be heading back to Oahu with it for school this fall. Its a 1.8t and pretty fast from what I could tell.

I may, or may not be back around November, but with all the VWs around recently it would be cool to have a meet...

I got a better look at that gti when it was parked out at wholefoods. Was willing to bet it was 1.8t but it's not staying here anyway. I'm also pretty sure I saw it park at a house on east kuiaha.

Keep in touch and we should definitely cruise when the caddy gets here. Just a month away before I head back to MD to pick her up, I'm getting stoked! Also, is Patrick a member here? I'd like to PM him if so.

Thats my A2 Gti that was around for Summer, back on Oahu for school. Its a 1.8t AEB.

That's my parents place on East Kuiaha, the GTI will be parked there again next summer. Most likely have a GT28RS by that time
